well all the asnwers so far are a variation of a theme

but i do something different with mine, and so do loads of others here is Scotland, its so cold that we put it into empty clean yogurt pots and drop in a piece of string, let it harden, pop it out and hang it from a tree, birds go crazy for it and its good for them in the winter, we add seeds and nuts to it too before it hardens

Technically the best is to compost it. Failing that putting it in the garbage after it has cooled is best. Some people prefer to pour the hot grease into a glass jar or can first to let it harden. However as glass and cans should be recycled I'm not sold on this practice.

For small amounts of grease like that, I just put a swirl of dish detergent in the pan, mix it around (it breaks down all that grease) then wash it down the drain. I've never had any problems.

Save the container that the meat comes in and after the grease has cooled a little bit, pour it into the tray/container and discard in the trash can. Never pour it down the sink because it will clog it up.

hahah i like to keep my bacon grease in a jar (it solidifies white) and then use that when i make eggs, just take a spoon full and put it on the pan and fry up the eggs. its not completely healthy but its tasty.

but on the subject of getting rid of the grease, i agree with the gerneral consensus. put it in a can (one with a lid maybe preferable to seal any smells in) then throw it out when it gets full or close to full

I easily have perfected this recipe, i think of. purely made it final nighttime! a million. Peel and cut back beets into quarters. Peel and cut back carrots so as that they are skinny sticks. cut back purple potatoes into quarters. those would be your stuffing and facet dish (and you will use any vegetables you like, those purely take place to hold up properly and are seasonally perfect for this time of twelve months). 2. cut back approximately 3 tablespoons of butter into small chunks. Chop garlic into small chunks. combination salt and dried rosemary in a bowl. those may be the flavoring on your chicken. 3. prepare chicken. get rid of something interior the hollow area of the chicken, and wash the poultry. Loosen the floor from the beef with your hand. Take the butter, garlic, salt and rosemary and season the hollow area, below the floor and the two aspects of the chicken. 4. place as lots of the inspiration vegetables into the hollow area as available. place something in a layer on your dish, and placed the chicken on remarkable (with the chicken breast dealing with up). 5. cook dinner for 30 to 40 5 minutes on 425 levels (that's in a position to coach over while the floor seems crispy and brown). Take poultry out, turn it over. turn the temperature all the way down to 375 and cook dinner for yet another hour or so, till the floor seems waiting as properly. it easily relies upon on what number kilos that's, so save a watch on it. i exploit a meat thermometer to tell while that's waiting. in spite of the undeniable fact that, in case you may twist the drumstick off with no longer lots resistance, and the juices run sparkling, that's waiting! Take out the vegetables and consume them alongside with your chicken. I promise you, that's thoroughly scrumptious. take excitement in!

Let it cool.
Place it in a container and throw it out with the trash.
(Old coffee cans or funnel the grease back into an empty oil container.)

Lots of good suggestions here..I feed the rendered grease to the various livestock...The dogs love it and it helps their coats be shiny and water repellant.
It is also a good dietary supplement for the hog feed.

Between dogs and hogs, I have no worry about disposing the renderings.

I take it in the bathroom and flush the toilet and as soon as the water is getting ready to go down i hurry and dump in with the spatula, then wait for toilet tank to fill again, and wipe it with toilet paper and repeat,or if you got a empty can or jar dump in there and wipe pan and flush the paper, then wash the pan.
