It's legal to use the program, just not to use it illegally like for downloading licensed products. It's also just about the worse program you could choose for doing such things.

Listen...Limewire isn't illegal...it's how you use it to make it illegal. It's like a gun. It's legal to have a gun but not to go ahead and kill someone. Nevertheless, don't kidd yourself, who uses Limewire illegaly? So, if you decide to download it, use Peer Guardian so the RIAA and MPAA can't track you down...lol...

Answerer 1: Limewire doesn't "get" your computer a virus, *you* did by downloading it.
It is legal to use, just not legal to use the way you probably want to use it, which is to download copyrighted material.

It is illegal to use limewire and other programs to get free stuff. BUT IT. Also lots of the stuff you download for free has viruses in it and it will screw up your PC.
