Think about it.
Some outerspace being sending life to earth millions of years ago or the bibles version of events.
Im not a scientologist, but its funny how they are percieved as nutters but christianity is accepted.

Interesting question considering that you are giving the version provided by anti-scientology sites, not what they say they believe in. And even with that you are asking if it isnt all that much worse. I take it that you are just comparing the stories, and not the rites?
Even if all that **** was what they truly believed then the concept that the big being in the religion is an alien that is evil for taking a hand in our lives and is now locked up in a volcano might not be so bad. Forcing us to take control of our own lives. Taking self-help courses instead of relying on prayer and miracles and "turning our lives over to God". It almost plays out like an atheist conspiracy to push the world away from religion. Sometimes I wonder why the AM (atheist mafia) is so hard on scientology compared to other religions on this forum.

In the end it's up to the individual what they believe in, even if it may sound totally rubbish, if you look at my prifile you will see what I believe in. But in answer to your question I will set it out like:
Christianity has been about for nearly 2000 years (the calender is supposed to be set at Christ Birth so the church will celibrate its 2000 birthday in or arround about 2030 give or take a couple of years) so has become accepted. When the Christian Chruch first formed many people were killed for their beliefs, these days as it has been about for so long people accept it my easier.
Scientology was developed in the 1950's, I personally do not fully understand what they believe in or know much about the faith, but Ron Hubbard, said that each of us can be 'super humans' and we have to develope the skills, by the books Ron had written.
I hope that my answer may have helped.

Hmmmmm.... that is a good question
A SciFi writer in the 1950's who feels that aliens exist and have influenced us which should be eradicated from us to help us lead powerful lives completely by our own doing.
Or a zombie magic carpenter 2000 years ago told a bunch of goat herders that an invisible man created us and will only grant a wonderful afterlife to those who pray to that invisible man thru the carpenter and nobody else.
If I was forced to really pick between just those two? Besides, Scientology is cheaper. Seriously. 10% of my earnings before taxes to the christian church? for what?

The answer to this question is an emphatic "NO". Christianity is not any more believable than Scientology. These two "faiths" are quite different but equally ridiculous.

No , im not sure the writings of a science fiction geek is anymore believeable then a 2000 year old book. Theres as much evidence as either, and you are welcome to believe it, but you are just moving the same arguement of a creator whether imnipitent or not but just into a different place.

Its all about belief, we feel lonely if we believe nothing, so therefore we take comfort in something whatever it may be looking down on us, protecting us etc.
What if this is as good as it gets, and there is nothing else, would it make you do things differently.

Nope.........no direct relationship
That is Science.........and even the best of Science can not explain how this world was created perfectly.......
And the Scientists are left hanging with the thought that their inquiries only end in nothing because the Bible has answered it all...........
