Because they're self righteous herd dwellers that never question authority. These are the same type of people that threw women, accused of being witches, in the river to see if they would float and then went to church on Sunday.

And who makes these "rules" we aren't supposed to break?

And how do these rules become laws?

Ahhh, life in the herd is a real trip...

Depends on who made these rules. Some make them to keep themselves in power, some to keep the people scared, while others do it to keep a semblance of order in life. I guess whatever you do you will be breaking someone's law somewhere.

its as simple as CAUSE and EFFECT.

Anything you do will have a reaction. If you break the rules youll eventually get caught, and punished.

I guess basically we (as a society) punish people because if everyone was breaking the rules, everything would be anarchy and nothing would get done.

coz rules are meant to be followed so that peace and order will be visible and felt in a community, school, or wherever.

those getting caught are punished so that others are warned that if they, indeed break the rules, they too will 'suffer' the consequences.

Because they're "snitches" and they get mad because they have to try so hard to follow the rules, and they're too worried over what other people are doing.
