Men have this special bond with their mothers and you can't compare yourself to his parents. They looked after him and made him the man he is, so that he could spend the rest of his life with you. Just grin and bear it and be happy that he will get a job now.

Sounds like your bf is a "parents" boy.

But in all fairness job hunting especially this time of the year is hard. All the jobs are usually filled up already with the holidays.

Good luck to both of you and happy holidays

It's human nature I'm afraid. Most of us grow up with our parents as an authorative figure and think of them as people who know a lot about life.

A boyfriend or girlfriend is someone who we see as more equal and possibly not with the same experience as our parents.

Therefore it's only natural for him to listen to his parents and moan at you.

The only thing you can do is be supportive and understand that getting a job is stressful.

It happens to me all the time. Sometime we just need to use different approach or technique. This is not easy because I have been working on this many years.

he probably sees you and his parents as people filling different stations in his life, when he you ask, he sees you asking as a friend, so he simply gives an excuse, when his parents ask, he sees them as a figure of authority and thinks if he doesnt do it, there will b consequences.
