Been there, done that. I always felt protected, secure and looked after. I knew he would never mess around. On the other hand, I wanted to go out more than he did, and we didn't get on with each other's friends... I thought his were boring old farts and he thought mine were immature screechy girly girls. And he thought I was looking at men of my age all the time.
Thank God I got out of THAT relationship. If I'm honest, I was bored for most of it.

I've just got married to a man 11 years older than me after dating for 4 years. Although not all men are the same, in my experience an older guy is much more mature and knows how to look after a woman! He's also extremely chivalorous and polite!!
As for disadvantages....the only one for me is that my husband has a son and there is only a 12 year age gap between me and him so it can be a bit odd at times. Although his son is lovely it was quite strange to start!!

Depends on both your maturity. Are you of age to date a man 10 years older than you? Most older men know what they want in life and have matured. Why don't you ask yourself if he is treating you right? Is he in love with you? Do you love him? Things of that nature. Good luck and have fun.

Although I think it is important for a couple to experience things together for the first time it is also nice to know that you have some one that may be able to make you understand the compromises in a relationship. Personally I prefer to stick with some one close in age to myself.

Peggy S hit the nail on the head. My girlfriend is 12 years younger and we have no problems in that respect but I am nearly 46. Life is a learning curve so you will need to experience it yourself before you fully understand it. Good luck
