Does it mean God is not if you can't see Him?

based on this argument from non-believers, it would also be true that air is not real. you can not see air, yet it does have power..Hmmm. If you can't see air, yet you can feel it's power. Maybe the same is true about God. your thoughts

every non believer wants proof proof proof. yet you won't believe the testimony of himself. the testimony of over 500 witnesses who witnessed Him alive after his crucifixion. You don't believe the testimony Jesus gave of Him

I think it isn't whether an atheist can "see" God or not. It is that the evidence presented to them does not convince them.

As for me I became convinced based on the same evidence which so many atheists decry.
For example, I remain unconvinced of the evidence presented for "evolution" and the amazing theory of life arising spontaneously from muck, without some intelligent design and intervention. That in truth was the start of my path from non-belief to salvation. I just could not believe that through some happenstance life came into being.

So, the question is about the evidence, I believe. Can an atheist be convinced by the evidence we Christians present?
I myself might never have been able to, except for the small shred of willingness which grew from seeing a few who genuinely lived out their faith in Christ.

And at least to some degree, aren't we the primary evidence?

Concider this....
God is
That means God is everything. The fabric that holds it all together, the attoms that make everything we see, the very ground you walk on.
God's grace and humbleness is so profound that you walk on what God is. If you can't see God, touch a wall or feel the ground, yes it is alive, moving and vibrating at an atomic level, dancing according to Gods love.
You only have 10% control of your entire body......what is opperating the other 90%......can you see that?
God is.
The very fact that you live means you are aware of your body, the thing you ride in.
Fact:every single cell in your body is aware that it is alive.
You are aware of that and call it your mind.
So the paradox is true,we are indeed spiritual beings having a human expereince and not humans having a spiritual experience.
It becomes a punitive (doing something that feels like punishment) exercise to "not believe" because the existence of life and love is so overwhelming.
Seeing..........is indeed sad if you are blind, especially when the only thing that you can not see, is "yourself"
As for God
God "Is"

"based on this argument from non-believers"
What? I have never, in all my life, heard this argument presented by an atheist. The only context in which I have ever heard anyone say that people don't believe in God because they can't see him is when theists use it as a straw man argument. Which is absolutely absurd, unless you honestly believe that you're going to trick us into thinking that we only believe in what we can see. You really don't think much of us, do you?

Incidentally, you don't have the testimony of five hundred witnesses. You have a handful of testimonies that claim there were five hundred witnesses. And they were written far too long after the event to have been by eyewitnesses anyway.

That is not the reason we don't believe. There is just no evidence. We can see the effects and feel the effects of air. It's testable. Can't say the same for god. Sorry, try again...

This argument had been used countless times before, and sadly , I doubt this will be the last time...

All religions based their faith and modelled their particular god on statues and effigies. Over time man came to realize that this way did not work, the crops for instance, still failed. They were disproved.

In order to continue to control the masses, it became necessary that the next line of gods would have to be invisible - conveniently. Their reasoning being that you can't disprove something that is invisible.

Sadly, many ill-educated people still believe in an invisible god.

We can detect and study air molecules and things like gravity and photosynthesis through objective means that are reproducible and consistent. These means are verfiable to all individuals unlike God experiences which are unverifiable or reproducible and vary widely between people. We can even manipulate air molecules in experiments and use our knowledge of gravity to project satellites and probes through the galaxy. No objective measurement of God has yet to be discovered. Belief in God unlike knowledge of air, gravity, photosynthesis, etc.. is based on faith and subjective personal experience rather than evidence available to all.

To misquote the wise and all knowing Douglas Adams :

Because it is totally inconceivable that such a varied Universe appeared by chance, many people have chosen to view the Intelligent Design theory as the final proof of the non existence of God. The argument goes like this :

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing."

"Ah," says Man, "but intelligent design is a dead giveaway isn't it? It proves you exist and so therefore you don't. QED."

"Oh dear, " says God, "I hadn't thought of that." And promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

For the 9th time this week, what's with you theists and seeing? Obsess much? Provable doesn't mean visible. I've only heard fundies use it, usually the non-believers actually have quite a few more scientific methods of verifying existence.

Are you deliberately overstating the idea to provoke, misinformed or just stupid?

EDIT
------
Almost forgot.

It has nothing to do with VISIBILITY. For crying out loud, do you really think we believe that what we can't see doesn't exist? Air does not have to be visible. We have four other senses besides sight. Besides, I have seen air. I'll spare you the details.

You want to claim that God exists? PROVE IT. If you can't (and I'm quite sure you can't), then I am justified in rejecting your claim. I can say, "No, he doesn't." Why? Because you didn't support your claim with any evidence.
