As the others have said, this sounds like a hernia. If it is not causing any problems for you, you can take the watch and wait plan. The dangerous part of this is if it pouches out, you cannot push it back in and the pain becomes severe, this means you have a strangulated bowel (a piece of bowel has slipped through the hole in the muscle and is shutting off the blood supply to that section of your bowel) and this is considered a medical emergency. If this occurs, you need to go to a doctor or ER immediately so they can push it back in. If they cannot, you need immediate surgery to prevent the death of this part of your bowel (the part pouching out) or you will then be looking at a bowel resection and a long hospitalization and healing time. Just keep a close eye on it and get medical help if the symptoms I described occur.
