I was just talking to a friend the other day, and I found it hard to believe what he said. He is very casual when talking about sex. He asked me this: Would you rather have sex with a random girl for one night with no consequences, or have an emotional relationship with a girl and slowly build up your relationship? I replied that I'd rather be with a girl intimately and slowly build from that. He replied to my answer that I must be crazy. He said that he would take the first option without hesitating and said I wasn't a man.
The way he responded had me thinking, are a lot of people out there that think the way my friend thinks too? I can't imagine what kind of father he'd end up as. I just want an honest opinion of which option you'd take. If you'd really take the first option, just say it, same thing as the second. I just want a good idea of what people really think.

I am not interested in sex without commitment.
If that makes me less of a man in your friend's eyes, I don't give a rat's ***, and neither should you.
You seem like a decent guy. Perhaps you should choose better companions.

He is just in a different place in life than you are. Some of these guys change when they meet a girl they fall in love with and would pick her over random hook ups anyday. Others live this way, some happily. It is just a choice and there is no right or wrong answer. As long as you know what you want, then it doesn't matter what some friend says. Personally, I liked hooking up with girls, but after awhile, it wasn't that much fun. I have a girlfriend now and if I would have met her before, I might not have been so careless about sex. I look at it as a life experience.

Sammy--millions of people in the world and we are all free to choose how we feel about any subject that comes up--including sex. I don't like random partners--they probably are apt to pick up diseases and have really lousy sex--just flop around with no feelings at all. Tell your friend he is your hero but you will have relations the way you want to and while he will probably catch aids or syphillis, you will be healthy with a nice girl and having a real nice relationship. This guy needs a hobby--what a shi--y conversation. Merry Christmas

From experience, I know that men are looking for different things at different times in their lives. You may have matured much faster than he did. All men do not think that way, nor do all men think like you do. As an individual, you need to accept your own feelings, and not worry about what other men think. You will be happier being true to yourself!
By the way, he may never have experienced a true loving relationship. You can't beat the love making when both parties love each other. There is nothing like it!!

I agree with you and I'd take the second option. Your friend is probably a bit immature at the moment. It takes a lot of growing up before you even consider yourself ready to risk the second option and some guys just take a long time to reach that stage.

trust me he wont be happy having 1 night stands after a while. and you are more of a man than he will ever be if you actually take the time to get to know the person that you are going to be with instead of just taking a random girl home from the bar or what ever. one night stands can be fun if thats what you are looking for but you will eventually feel empty inside with out having that " special " person to be with

Your friend is a jerk. Unfortunately a lot of guys think that way. He may just be "acting cool" to show off. If he really does think that way I hope his mother smacks him for it. Some guys think the way you do though. I think you're on the right track. Keep up the good work.

most women would prefer what you said!
but if its a male between the ages of 18 and 25 then it could be normal thinking with his member!
you will find many people think difrent ways and everyone is entitled to live the way they want,,,,, hope he puts something on the end of it tho!!!

Ok first why are you letting this friend define what a man is?
He is obviously an idiot. Be a man and make your own decisions. That is what a true man does
