when i was about age six, my family came to the united states illegally. but, after a tedious and expensive proccess, i am now a permanent resident. i grew up in the ghetto, etc.. typical cliche immigrant conditions. now im a sophomore in college majoring in electical engineering.. again, my question is; what does the typical, middle-class, american-idol-loving, white american think of me...?

i wasnt trying to be racist when i said "white americans", thats just who my question was geared towards. i didnt see much of a point in asking a minority group how they felt about another minority group.

the purpose of my question wasnt to troll, or even hear positive things about myself. it was to get a better idea how the main group (white) in america feels about my situation. its my experience that people are more honest in a place where they can voice their opinion anonimously, e.g. the internet

I think it is great that you are now legal. I don't approve of what your family did because it was against the law. I simply don't approve of anyone coming here illegally. If there are people here illegally and they want to become legal, that's great. They should do it. But to come here and stay for years without doing anything about your legal status is wrong. I believe that if people really do think that America is so much better than wherever they came from, they should be willing to do whatever is necessary to become legal. Part of living in the United States is accepting that we have laws here that must be followed if we are to continue as a great country.

Well, I hate American Idol,I'm below middle class but I'm most definitely a white American. My opinion is that while your parents committed a criminal act,you did not as you were a child. You did the right thing by becoming legal and I congratulate you for improving yourself. I would caution you on insulting others in reguards to their education as you have not walked in their shoes and while it's a popular myth that white people have endless opportunities,it is just that, a myth. We are not all born with silver spoons nor do we always have the same opportunities as others. There is no Euro American college fund or anything else set aside especially for us so you may want to rethink things a bit before you make assumptions about white America.

the only element they are in a position to do is voluntarily bypass returned to their families abode united states of america, wait ten years, and be conscious for visa legally. the reason in the back of the ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days wait is as a results of the fact as quickly as deported, you're banned for 10 years. in spite of the undeniable fact which you sympathize which comprise your friends, remember, that we've those rules in place for a reason. the mothers and fathers might desire to have completed the sumptuous element, and are available legally.

Illegal is still illegal.......
Being that I am a naturalized citizen of the type you stated above, I did not grow up in the ghetto so that is not a typical cliche and you will find that most did not . However we did work very hard to achieve what we did and yes we came in very legally, my parents also brought me here, Paid for our own way , never a dime received from anyone only contributed to this country and love the place I am in.

Your parents broke the law by entering the country illegally, not exactly an honest thing to do. Since you were dragged along as a kid, you had nothing to do with that crime but your smugness and self-righteousness is annoying. And your bating of "white" people is silly.
I hope you enjoy the American freedoms you have and appreciate this country and not shove your parent's original disregard for our Constitution and our laws in our faces.

What right do you have to insult someone's daughter on here?? He was very polite to you. I agree with the other posters. You are arrogant and display a bad attitude.
P.S.
plantage
He said his parents are legal NOW. They are no longer illegal alien criminals. That doesn't negate the fact that they ignored our immigration laws in the first place. It is still wrong, it only means they can't be deported now.
I agree with the above poster...this post is very fishy...I smell a troll.

You are an obnoxious as*hole RACIST that has no better way to try to "win" an argument than to insult another poster's daughter.
There is nothing original about your post and I, as well, doubt you are in college and also suspect you are a troll.
BTW,
I find it interesting that the "Pros" overlook your obnoxious, arrogant, racist, and insulting post and STILL "compliment" you.
UNBELIEVABLE.

I am not a typical Idol whatever loving American. I am Latina and will always be even though I was born here! I will not deny my heritage, unlike some people who are ashamed of what they are! I will never be ashamed! I am so proud of you! You are a true American because you worked hard to get to where you are and achieved your dream! I am so sick of the laziness of people and kids these days! All they want is iPod this and Ninetendo this and they don't even work for it! They think they deserve it because they got a "B" in PE. I don't think so! You all need to learn something form this person! Work people and then you can earn your way! You are not entitled to anything unless you work! Good job! Keep going and don't listen to these bitter people that will still be complaining about their lives while you get ahead! Take care and have a wonderful life!!!

You have a pass because you were not in charge at age 6 and the decision was not yours. You have also shown merit in that you are trying to make something of yourself by going to college.
I do, however, believe that you have a less than perfect reputation because there may have been others waiting in line to become citizens that your parents cheated by breaking the rules. I don't know if you have a grant from the Government to attend college or a scholarship from some other source to assist illegal aliens or people of some other ethnicity that would be considered a minority in the US, but my daughter has not received such government assistance and she very much needs assistance with her tuition. So I look at your profile and am not enthused because I believe you, by virtue of your parents, have taken opportunities and possibly even resources away from law abiding people and U.S. citizens.
I do not hate you though.
Were the US to intitute a draft, I'd vote you to be the first to go and put you on the front lines. Sorry, but that's the way it works and has been so since the beginning of government rule from the earliest of even semi-civilized times.
If we went to war with the country you came from, yes, I would be suspicious of your truer allegiances. You haven't said if you came from Mexico or not and I do not generalize this to you. But a very large number of Mexican-Americans in my part of the country have a higher allegiance to Mexico and it's culture than they do to the USA. They spew their hatred at the US and believe the US can never do enough for them. To those people, I truly want them thrown back to the country that bred them. I would even cut the cord to the catapolt that would launch them flying back over the border wall being built on the Rio Grande River and into their beloved Mexico. I do a very good GRITO, by the way. AAAAHHHHHH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HIIIYAAAHHH!
Do your best to make a positive contribution to society, pay your taxes, and please don't go waving flags from your native country here and blaming the United States for everything that isn't perfect in your life.

You ask us what we think. Let's see, your parents spit on our laws by entering our country illegally. Then YOU throw it in our face, what do you expect us to say?? I am happy you are now legal, but don't flaunt your parents' illegal entry into our country and expect us to say positive things.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world would come legally to the U.S. in a heartbeat if only given the chance, but we can't accept everyone. What makes your parents so special that we should accept them ILLEGALLY into our country with "open arms"?
BTW, your question is racist. Nothing in your post had anything to do with race until you asked the question what do WHITE AMERICANS think of me?? That, my friend, is a racist question. Illegal aliens comprise people from every country on earth. Americans that oppose illegal aliens likewise comprise every race. Why are you singling out "white" America?????? Are you insinuating "whites" are the only ones opposed to illegal alien criminals?
