If those don't work, you may need to do some artistic thinking and maybe paint over it, or try putting up curtain rods with some curtains to hide it.
That's what we had to do with some ugly wood paneling we didn't kow what to do with. We painted it off white, then hung mirrors and boy did it make a difference and it was cheap.
