A 33 yr old turned me down and even though I told her I was fine about it she has been avoiding me.

Is this normal? Surely, at her age she has been hit on before and should be able to deal with this considering I said I was fine?

If she is a friend, maybe she just feels uncomfortable... maybe she just doesn't want to appear like she is leading you on...

I think it's time for a good chat with her to say that even though you asked her out, you are perfectly fine with the fact that she's not interested in you... Say you hope you can still be friends...

Iim sure she is fine with it, its just that she may now feel slightly uncomfortable and afriad of leading you on in case you ask again.

I personally try not to avoid this guy who asked me out - I was straight up with him and he still talks to me and always tells me I am looking beautiful, which is sweet but a little unnerving for me, so I tend to keep him at arms length and always call him 'mate' (not full on avoidance) in case he thinks its ok to ask again...because I will only turn him down every time

It depends how old you are. She may feel as if you are doing this as a joke, or maybe she just doesnt see you in that way. Next time you see her just make a joke out of it to lighten the mood and laugh it off between you. Hope that helps!x

She'll avoid you because you will be sending out bad vibes. She will not want to have to fend off further approaches by you - she will assume you will make another attempt if she keeps company with you. By avoiding you she is telling you in no uncertain terms she wants nothing to do with you and does not want to find herself associated with you. If she had told you this in words you would have got angry - you will be angry with me for pointing this out. C'est la vie.

Age is not a reliable indicator of maturity. Maybe she just wants to be ultra sure she is not giving you any of the wrong signals or leading you on.

She's just playing hard to get. This is the oldest ploy in the book. Ask her again but this time have flowers.

Could be the way you went about asking her out and she doesnt want to give any signals or the wrong impression by being in your company

She likely feels uncomfortable and dosen't want you to get the wrong idea if she is nice to you, people don't grow up as quikcly as you might imagine

Not really normal exactly, but maybe she's shy and you've embarrassed her. Or she might think you're a sleaze?! How old are you?
