I know its a silly question, but I obsess about my nose being bigger than average and in my school days some people used to ridicule me and call me names for having a big nose. I have never really understood how big a deal (no pun intended) or how little it really matters.

I want to ask the question that if you see a guy or a girl's nose and you notice it is bigger than ideal, what do you think about them?
Its just I was in the work's canteen last week at the till and when I looked to the side this girl I have always liked was in the queue looking at me side on and I was so self consicous thinking well she must think I am ugly now.

I would never have a nose job, this is who I am, but I just want to stop being self conscious.

So what do you think if you see someone's nose is big, do you think they are ugly and yuck or what?

Thanks for all the cool answers. You have really helped me realise just how obsessed and biased my own beliefs have developed and its time to understand a new fairer reality.

I know some people will find it a turn off, we are all different, but I know men and women who have big noses and I have never thought they are ugly. I have a good friend who has a big nose and all the women find him desirable and there is a girl at work with a big nose and I find her so attractive. Which kind of shows its not that I find big noses ugly but I am kind of haunted by the ridicule and negative comments in the past believing my nose must be a problem and I became self conscious of my nose to avoid people thinking the negative things I believed people would think.
Its time to move on from all of that.

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it.

I heard this on tv, not sure if it's true, but they said people with bigger noses are generally more well-liked. Some people have screwed up noses, no need to focus on it. Everyone has flaws.

About ugliness - I think it is more about general look of the nose than the size. And anyway men can have big noses without any problem. It gives them a character. Men in my family do have quite large and handsome noses.

I have found out that usually when people are obsessed about their noses there is now real problem for the normal persons eye. Usually the nose jobs are totally unnecessary as the nose gives you a character and personality.

I though big personal noses are in the mode right now.

From my late teens, and until now I kinda don't like my nose too, because I find it small, round and not straight. But some people find it nice. Same would be for you. Some people may find it cute. When you go up in the ladder of life these things become less and less prominent. Other people wont even notice that when interacting wi you. mind that you are born this way, for a purpose. It's really against humanity to ridicule someone's facial feature, those people will never succeed in their lives.

I used to be so obsessed with my nose. It's pretty big but kinda round at the end, too. I refused to wear my glasses and got contact lenses. My nose was still big! I grew my bangs to my chin but my nose never got any smaller. I never part my hair in the middle. I wouldn't wear a hat. I used a slightly darker shade of foundation down the center of my nose than the sides. Yep, still the same nose. When I was younger, it seemed like a big (ha) deal but It doesn't define me. I'm funny, I have great style and the people who really matter to me think I'm exotic. I'm going to be a funny looking old lady but it will probably be for my superfluous third arm.

Just be sweet and charming with the girl, if you can put a smile on her face, im sure your confidence will boost. If she goes for noses then maybe she's a tad gone in the head.

Good rule though, be as honest as you can with her, if she read Pinocchio as a child, that might not work to your advantage.. I wouldn't worry about any of it really, big noses on blokes normally don't affect anything because of the basic shapes and sizes of our faces.

it's how you were born, I have a big nose too from my dad side and so does my sister, but there's always going to be someone who really loves you because you are the whole you. I asked my fiance if I had a big nose and he says he loves it =p The inside of you is more important then anything else, don't ever change for anyone = )

Only a shallow person would even think twice about it. It doesnt matter what size a persons nose is - look at Micheal JAckson !! Small nose but what a mess. Just be confident with who you are. The girl in the queue was likely looking at how cute you are and nothing at all about your nose xxxxxxxxxx

It depends on the rest of the guy, seriously. That guy on The Office (american) has a big nose, but his personality is so funny, and he has pretty eyes, so it doesn;t matter if he does or not. Maybe she was checking you out - stop being insecure. We all get clowned for something in grade school!
