Are there some websites that can help me train for the marathon? Maybe some tips on exercises and food that I need to eat to increase my stamina to complete the 26 miles.

Things to do before a marathon:
1) Get the required mileage
Try to start running 3 times a week at least, with one average distance, one long distance and one easy, short tapering one. Increase the number of kilometres each week, and consider increasing the number of times you run in the week from 3 to 4. Rest well and hydrate properly during this period

2) Run at a continuous 34km once at least 1.5weeks before the marathon day
If you are able to do this without any problems, then you are definitely ready for a marathon. This is because people usually tire out after 28km, and feel completely shitty at 34km. Don't exceed that number though. It's unecessary

3) Find out the best shoe for the day
During your runs, make sure you get a feel of each of your shoe, and determine the best one for running long distance. At the same time, alternate shoes for each run so as to allow the cushioning of each shoe to return to its optimum state

4) Eat properly and carbo load
Stick to your normal diet, but with an increase in carbohydrates (i.e. potatoes and rice) about a month before the run. slowly reduce your intake when you are 2 weeks away from the run, as the carbohydrates you have eaten previously are now stored for usage. Keep your body in good shape so that you do not fall ill near the race day

What to do during the marathon
a) Sip at each water point
Do not drink too much water as you may get stiches. However, sip at each water point so that your body doesn't get de-hydrated

b) Walk for 3 min every 30min of running
Assuming you do not aim for anything below 4 hours, this is a good practice as there may be a possibiliy of cramps along the way if you do not give your body any rest at all and jog the whole distance. It is better that you complete the race 10min slower without cramps than spend 10min getting rid of one and suffering for a few hours

3) Relax and Enjoy the run!!! =)
A humbling yet very fulfilling experience! All the best to your training!! =)
