Purchased minivan from drivetime (where everyone is approved!). Things are working fine, My only complaint is that I'm paying way too much. I would like to return the car, or sell it. Its overpriced already so I think I would lose money. What can I do? Its a 95 chevy venture, my total purchase price is over 19k! I've had it for 4 months now, if that makes any difference.

No you can't return it. You signed the contract so you are stuck with it. You can try to sell it but of course you are not going to get what your loan amount is or what you bought it for.
You can see if someone you know friend or family member want to take over the payments and get it refinanced in their name though

The answer is...you are out of luck here. It'snot that you can't resell the car. It would be relatively easy to put an ad on the internet or paper and find a buyer for it. The problem is that it appears that you really overpaid for the car. however, one thing that you didn't mention was the breakdown of the 19k. Do you mean that you paid 19k for the car? Or do you mean that with interest payments you will have paid 19k by the time the loan is over. Big difference because it affects how much you could lose if you resell it. Feel free to private email me if you like.

GOOD LORD did they provide vaseline with the @$$ raping they gave you? $19,000 can get you a NEW car let alone one that's 12 years old. If you sold it privatly you can expect MAYBE $3,000 MAX. This is why you NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy from a place where EVERYBODY is approved. They can charge whatever they want and because people are dumb enough to pay for it they get away with it. The retail on a new 1995 Chevy Venture was LESS than your purchase price.

NO.............................

If one was to return the car now, you would get resale value for it and car prices go down tremendously after having been driven off the lot.

It will probably be better if you can find a private seller for it.

Plus drivetime is known for selling overpriced junks just research it on-line all see the complaints that they have.

You cannot return it and you have overspent about 12,000.00 dollars. A 95 Venture with ave miles has a retail of about 7000.00 and trade in of 5530.00 in fair cond. Hate to say it but they took you to the cleaners unless some of your info is incorrect like payoff or what you paid but if not for them to make 12,000.00 on a 7000.00 car is just plain wrong. I would, although they did not make you pay it, write to BBB and Ripoffreport.com. and contact Drivetyme with a KBB price and ask how they can do this. You may be lucky and get some kind of break.

no you cant take it back, but you could have if you didn't make the first payment. but you can still try and call the finance company and tell them you don't want the car anymore, don't talk to drive time cause they will just tell you no. Call the finance company and tell them their was a mistake on your application or the say the pament is higher than they told you it would be. It might work Ive seen it done. it just depends on the finance company. and if they say no call again and talk to someone else.
