People change ... times change ... ideas develop. Haven't you noticed?

Besides, what difference does it make? Just because Joe goes and gets his name changed to John doesn't make him any less a person.

I am sorry to say, but you are mixing up the two important words: Global Warming and Climate Change - both of these two words mean the same thing ... Global Warming was a word derived in the early last century by a man whose name I do not recall right now (If you contact me on Email, then I will let you know).

Today the world is going Warm (Global Warming) chiefly because the Climate is Changing due to the addition of Carbon in the atmosphere.

Mainly because of the media. Within scientific communities they have always been two separate things.

Global Warming is a generic term used to describe the observed increase in the avergae global temperature - that's all it is, an increase in temperature. Climate Change is the term used to describe the effects of global warming.

For example - melting ice is climate change but it's not global warming (it's an effect of) whereas rising temperature is global warming but not climate change (nothing has changed, it's merely an observation).

GW = cause, CC = effect.

In part because the global 'cooling' scare of the 1960s and 1970s was blamed on human-made CO2 - and reminders of this have come to light recently. So, the folks who are really just out to create a new tax - on the very air we breathe - are now just using 'climate change' in general as a fear-inducing phrase to generate support for those new taxes.

OMG - can we think of any time in this planet's history when it was not experiencing climate change?

'Climate Change' and 'Global Warming' mean exactly the same thing, although it uses different words to express so.

Some people think that climate change is regarding how the environment and their surroundings are changing due to carbon dioxide, methane gas, carbon monoxide, etc. being emitted into the Earth's atmosphere.

Others believe, however, that global warming means the Earth is gradually rising its average temperature year by year - which could potentially mean the end to some islands and low-lying countries as the polar caps melt and sea levels begin to rise.

But global warming and climate change relate to each other, and vice versa. Although some people may think they are entirely different altogether, it isn't. I have explained my theory on why so just above.

They changed it because not enough people are joining their cause. Most people don't understand what global warming is. People do understand climate change because they associate climate with weather. It becomes somewhat normal people friendly to fool you. It's just another trick that the UN, some politicians, some scientist use to gain support for their screwed up idea or theory.

Probably because people are realizing that the change in climate is both natural and in no way man made. The fact that temperatures dropped between 1945 and 1970 is proof that CO2 isn't the cause of the current warming.

I mean, there was a mini ice age 200 years ago.

well, 'Climate change' and 'global warming' seem to be the same thing but i don t think they are. the climate change includes wider events like the events that occured on or because of the changing of the climate. global warming is a bit narrower, it's just the globe goes hotter. that's it, it includes ice melting in the north and south poles.

yes the reason behind is that climate has been acting really strange but dont forget the climate change is due to the warming affect on earth. and the word climate change is being used more because comparing past and the history of weather affects on earth and its reactions and components truly never happend before this global warming on earth so its been called climate change now.

The terms "climate change" and "global warming", while thrown around as if interchangeable, actually refer to different things. Global warming is the observed trend that average temperatures worldwide have risen in recent years. Climate change refers to how the weather is changing at certain locales. For instance, global warming could cause the climate in one place to become hotter and drier, but could indirectly cause the climate in another place to become colder. It might also cause more frequent or more intense storms. These are all effects of the overall warming of the earth, but are not directly equivalent to rising temperature. "Global warming" is a sort of objective, "hey guys our data says its getting hotter" sort of term. "Climate change" is more of a "how is that going to affect us" sort of term. I hope that helps clarify a bit.

yes it is true. many people still don't believe in global warming so they use the term "climate change." but climate change also refers to other abnormal events of weather like cooling in other places and much more. but they are almost the same
