Well... contrary to the common belief, there are many of them.

Non radical, respectful prudent christians.

But, just like there atheists, wiccans and people with other beliefs.

The fact we don't know much about them is, well, because a tolerant person is non confrontational.

Tolerance is not a matter of faith, is a matter of self certainty.

And... a good education.

My husband is actually. I know it sounds like an oxymoron and I used to think it was, but he really is.

Reasons:

He doesn't believe that the Bible is the exact word of god, unlike a lot of Christians. That drives both of us crazy when fundies argue over individual words in the Bible. Even if you do believe it's the word of God--it's passed through so many hands (and minds/perceptions) by now. Not to mention that it wasn't written in English! It'd been translated many times by the time it reached English.

He actually listened to what Jesus is reputed as having said. You know, things like "love your neighbor". It's amazing how many "Christians" forget that we're all supposed to be brothers and love each other.

Anyway, you get the idea. Rather than subscribing to a particular organized religion and doctrine he just took the valuable ideas that Jesus supposedly preached. A lot of people do, unfortunately it's the ignorant, intolerant "Christians" that are the loudest. You know, the ones who don't actually follow Jesus's teachings; they just talk about them.

eelai you again show what a total dumbass your religion has made you. If you are a firm Christian you would be Christ like Right??? I never heard Jesus say "Man that guy is so dumb, and careless for getting along with everyone." I bet you Believe the earth is only 6000 years old too.

I try to be tolerant to most but as you can see I do not care for ignorant people.

Probably like a non-whiny atheist. To be a Christian is to not tolerate sin. Sorry if you feel your sin threatened.
BTW Have you ever met a Christian? Christians are everywhere. And they are tolerant, decent people. Don't believe me, next time call for the non-Christian ambulance or fire truck.

I admit that I'm no poster child for Christianity, but my mother and dad are the best people that I know and they are tolerant and loving.

Yes there are lots of them, caring for AIDS victims and the sick, helping the homeless etc.

Tolerance is not the right word though, because it implies you tolerate something evil.

Love would be the right word.

*shakes head* I'm sorry, I thought maybe you would get some answers from thoughtful atheists and such. But it seems we Christians can't stay away. I'm truly truly sorry.

Peace to you.

What do you wish me to tolerate? Your question shows your bigotry. You assume by your statement that there is not such a beast.

Pray tell what would it look like if you were tolerant of Christians? Would you have asked this question?
