"In October 1998, McAreavy was able to obtain copies of LDS temple ordinance records for Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun from Philip Roberts of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. These IGI (International Genealogical Index) copies reveal that Adolf Hitler was "baptized" and "endowed" on December 10, 1993, and "sealed" to his parents on March 12, 1994. These events took place in the London Temple, England. Robert's copies also show that Hitler was "sealed" to Braun on September 28, 1993, in the Jordan River Temple, Utah, and on June 14, 1994, in the Los Angeles Temple. Roberts sent copies of these records to Ashton."

It shows no proof that the ordinances have been done just a website saying they have been done with no documentation saying that it has been done.

International Genealogical Index wouldn't have LDS records at all.

It's tomfoolery.

It was a set-up. The names submitted are not laundered by the Church. Someone wanted to embarrass the Church, and succeeded.

In the long run, it doesn't matter. Temple work will be done for all mankind. Acceptance of the ordinances, faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, and the Final Judgement are all factors that determine our eternal destiny.

definite, I had heard approximately those. I picked up a card with them on on the Temple e book save. And sorry, you adult adult males, yet regrettably i do no longer think of they're that sturdy a witnessing gadget. many of the references are sturdy, yet a number of them are slightly tenuous, some are open to interpretation, etc. i are conscious of it incredibly isn't any relaxing whilst a member disagrees with you, and that i might desire to be helping the abode team, yet I remember being all excited seeing this card, then getting abode, finding up the verses and questioning that it wasn't that solid a controversy. there is much extra suitable scriptural info that it incredibly is the genuine church, and info someplace else too. i like "Are Mormons Christians" by way of Stephen Robinson - I desire each anti-Mormon on right here might examine it. I do think of one million Corinthians 15:29 is info that the church is genuine, however. It demonstrates that baptism for the lifeless became practiced in elementary terms 40 years after Christ's resurrection - yet there is in elementary terms one church on earth at present nevertheless working in direction of it.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I do know that the Mormon Church cannot possibly monitor all the names that are submitted for temple ordinances. If some Mormon in England was foolish enough to submit Hitler's name for baptism, that's hardly the Mormon Church's fault.

Gumby's instincts are accurate. The same site you link to also has a letter indicating ordinances performed on behalf of the Nazi Leader and his spouse were nullified.

A summation of the practice is as follows....

"Salvation of the dead:

A distinctive doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that the dead as well as the living may receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every man, woman, and child who has ever lived or who ever will live on this earth will have full opportunity, if not in this life then in the next, to embrace or reject the gospel in its purity and fulness."

I don't know. I wasn't there. Were you?

It doesn't matter anyway. The church wouldn't have done his work to simply do it. A descendant would have done his work. And what does it matter? I think we all know where Hitler belongs regardless of whether or not he accepts Christ.
