Grapes, raisins and human chocolate in HUGE quantity's are toxic. The odd grape if eaten by mistake won't poison your dog, nor would a tiny bit of chocolate if for example your dog got hold of a chocolate bar wrapper and licked it. Just don't actually GIVE it to them.
Dogs do eat all sort of "crap" when out! I never had any idea just how much food got thrown on the floor until I got a puppy! She finds all sort of discarded food bits.
Fruit and veg is good for dogs, it helps them get vitamins and fibre without shoving them full of saturated fat and calories. Worry more about obesity in your dog than it eating fresh fruit or veg. Apply common sense and logic. Don't feed your dog 2kg of rotting fruit then not expect it to go straight through!

Hey'a. Dog's can eat fruit, and stones, and other odd materials, and not die but it doesn't mean it is the best for them. They are strictly carnavores and should eat muscle meat, organs, bones in a particular ratio....and that's it. The term 'well balanced diet' is a human term that unfortunately we have applied to our animals. There is a lot of differring opinion on whether dogs 'SHOULD' eat fruit....but if you do some research you will find the top experts in this field (and I don't mean vets) maintain that dogs are not made for anything other than meat. The best thing most people can do for their dogs in get them off comercial food containing cereals....that's probably the worst. Cheers...hope that's helpful.

omg don't give them grapes and things with seeds they are Poisson's and can can make your dog sick!!! well my vet told me, so i would stop giving them fruit.
dogs can suffer kidney failure after eating of large quantities of grapes and raisins. The key words are "large quantities", and of course the size of your dog.
The reported adverse responses to grapes and raisins are not from pets eating the occasional single grape or raisin. The cases of kidney failure involved ingestion of 2 ounces to 4.4 ounces. of grapes/raisins. Giving your dog 3-4 at a time might be close to that 2 ounce limit.
Blueberries (fresh or frozen) on the other hand are really good for dogs! Most dogs also enjoy baby carrots, apple wedges (but no the seeds, see below),bananas, melon, and pears.
You probably will want to limit your dog's fruit intake, as too much can cause soft stools, or diarrhea.
Some other foods to avoid are:
Onions, though not a fruit, should be avoided because they can destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.
Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmia's. Tomato plants and the most toxic, but tomatoes themselves are also unsafe.
Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis. These symptoms are usually temporary.
Walnuts are poisonous to dogs.
Apple seeds, cherry pits, and peach pits, pear pips, plums pits, peaches, and apricot pits contain cyanide, which is poisonous.
Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Baker’s chocolate is the most dangerous. The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is. But any chocolate, in large enough amounts, can kill a dog.
I Hope I've been a help.

Grapes are toxic in large quantities as are raisons. Watermelon shouldnt be bad might give them the runs if they eat a lot of it. Mangoes are okay but make sure you cut it up I have seen a number of dogs get sick from eating the pit of mangoes and it gets stuck in their intestines and they either have it removed surgically or die. As far as other fruits go pomogranites are bad, carrots are good, corn - probably fine as long as its not on the cob (cob can get stuck in their gut as well), apples are fine, pears are fine (as long as all the pips are removed as they are toxin) . I hope this helps

Fruits and veggies are great treats for dogs. Stay away from grapes, raisins, avacados, onions and a few other things listed here:

Other than that, just about any fruit or veggie is fine in moderation. My dogs love baby carrots and banana slices.

Raw fruit and veg are part of a dog's natural diet. They are far better for them than 100% processed foods. My dogs eat bananas, apples, tomatoes, pineapple, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots and cabbage and anything else I have left over!

My Beagle LOVES fresh pear and apple slices, strawberries and cherries too (pittless, of course)--NO GRAPES, RAISINS or CHOCOLATE (I know chocolate is not a fruit but just thought I'd throw that in there too-just so you'd know). Fruit is good--he also like most veggies. Smart dog. lol

Dogs really shouldn't get human food on a regular basis as they can't digest it well. Never give grapes bananas raisins to a dog as these are all toxic to their systems. It is okay to occasionally give apple pieces as a reward for training but it should not be a part of their main diet. You can type in toxic food to dogs in a search engine and it will give you a complete list of foods.
