was interviews today and went on and on about how god had protected her and intervened. The interview went on for several minutes with her praising god for intervening, and crediting god with everything.

The question is this. If you were a family member of the two sisters who were killed, how would all that talk about god intervening affect you?

"interviewed" vs "interviews" - is that really all you have to offer? That's what I thought.

This is not an attack against what the guard DID, it's a question about what she SAID.

I guess they think they did something wrong and apparently so does miss security. I actually heard a fundie say something like that once about some people whose child had just been killed in a car accident. "If they had been living right with the lord," he said, " then their son would still be alive." I think that may have been the most cold hearted statement I've ever heard.

I hated that. I saw the News and I thought she shouldnt have brought God into the subject. She is trying to show off in public like she's a saint.

I would tell her to stop being a hypocrite and to stfu.

I predicted them to be the targets after 9/11 and have watched information with trepidation yet, thank the great guy, they have not been terrorist targets. the risk-free practices guards in Church element hit me fairly no longer undemanding. for sure it exchange right into a prudent pass however the assumption-approximately some armed guards putting ariund teh doors of the Church for the duration of provider regarded very unusual to me, someting you will assume interior the middle East. of direction, a million) i do no longer everyday mega church homes, the small community church with 50 praishioners is unlikley to have sufficient money risk-free practices and 2) i'm Canadian, i do no longer even understand a unmarried individual who owns a handgun, no longer even many risk-free practices guards are armed right here. exterior of law enforcement officers, you could pass years with out seeing a gun of any style. People who have blind faith can find a way to justify everything so I doubt they are too upset. In fact I think I have seen comments the sisters are together in a much better place. While I am unable to buy into the guards statements I admire her very much. She acted with a great deal of wisdom and bravery. She took on a man who was much better armed then she was and did not hesitate to fire her weapon. We never know how we will act in face of extreme danger, but this lady acted quickly and decisively without regard to her own safety. She is a true heroine.

It is really sad that the gunman felt he had to murder those people. God gives people free will. How they act on that free will is up to them.
I am glad that the security guard had enough faith in God to be able to stand up to the gunman and stop him.
I know it will be hard on the family of the sisters that were killed and hopefully they will understand that it wasn't God that did the deed, it was the gunman.

If God can't even get off the can to come protect you when you're in 'his house' then all I gotta say is...

Well, you know the rest.

Goodness gracious, people, what the eff does this God actually do?! Anything?!

He gets credit for everything good, and none of the blame for anything bad!

Where do I get a job like that?!

I mean, sign me up!!

The person obviously has a seriously defective brain. Could be phsychopathic if they think that all actions are controlled by a fantasy figure and not the result of personal responsibility

There will always be people who will give credit to a god for everything, be it deemed beneficial or detrimental to them.

We see it all the time with disasters. "I lived." There must "be" a reason for it. It must be the will of a god...

If a plane crashed and someone told me it was "god's will" that I lost someone on it, I'd smack them in their face. Then I would tell them that it was "god's will" that they got smacked.

If he did intervene. Why did he wait so long? Why not stop it before the killings?

You're asking delusional people to explain things rationally. They can't, it's not that they don't want to, they just can't see reality thru all the delusions of faith.
