if you want it just a bit long/large, a size 5 should be a good fit.

typical measurements for this size are:
5'9-6'0 tall, 34-48" waist, 200 lbs

Ray is right, you want a size six at least. A seven while even longer may be to long and the ends can flip up and hit you in the eye when doing a front kick. Why not try one of your class mates belts on if any wear a six and check it out or ask your instructor if he has any old sixes or sevens laying around for you to try on and then you will have better idea.

What size is your uniform? Your belt will be the same size. If your current belt is a little short for your liking, get the next size up.

Oh, and you shouldn't be buying your own belt.

the belts are all standard size if you look at the belts for adults you will see that there is a lot of material to make up the belt so i can`t see you not getting one for your size.they have to be long to go round the waist line twice before being tied at the front
