I've been thinking about getting a kitten (I grew up with 7 cats, I now own my own home and have 3 dogs who are very sweet). I'm just curious if anyone has gotten 2 kittens at the same time- I was considering getting 2 so they have eachother to play with and what not. Did anyone do this and how did it work out? I would get 2 sisters.

My Aunt came down from Okla. here to Texas just to get two kittens. Actually, she got three of them. And they were all different breeds, too. A Siamese, Tabby, and a Calico. Two females, one male. They were playing with each other and they also slept with each other, too (VERY cute)

It is best to get two kittens because it gives them each other company and it's also VERY nice to get two kittens from the same batch, since they've known each other from birth and are more likely to get along with each other.

I hope you that helped!

I have 2 dogs, border collie and Yorkie. Then got 2 boy kittens just old enough to drink on their own. Border collie ignored them, Yorkie thought I had brought home new toys for him. Took a few days, some scolding, and locking the kittens in a pet kennel at night or when I was away from home. The Yorkie would have shredded the "new toys". After a week, all is fine, except when the Yorkie eats his meals, he will snap at the kittens. A quick squirt with a water bottle keeps them away until he is finished eating. Been 3 weeks now, everybody is happy. Two kittens do play alot together, even sharing toys to chase across the floor. They have full roam of the house, will always find them in the same room, which ever it is. Twice the vet bills, but twice the fun!

I got 2 sister kittens about 6 months ago and they have done so well together. I adopted one from across the street and she constantly walked around and cried and refused to eat. The next day I brought home her sister and they were both soo happy! I would really recommend getting two. They will always have each other for company and to play with. And with 2 kittens in the house there is never a dull moment.

It might work out, it might not, you won't know till you try.
The main thing is that they get on well with your dogs and that your dogs can handle having them around.
I had two kittens, brothers who grew up into cats who hated the sight of each other. I was forever cleaning fur and blood off the rugs. They now live happily in two different towns.

LoL, I was once adopted by a pregnant cat. She had 4 kittens and we kept 3 of them. It was great fun to watch them grow up!! We gave the 4th to my mom, so he's still in the family. We still have 2 of them (One lives at the Vet's office I used to work for- he LOVED it there and the other got cancer and died at home.)

I have 3 male cats. The were all feral rescue.
This past Aug, (8-19-07) we adopted a pregnant feral cat. She had 4 kittens. We were only going to foster them...but since we all got attached, we kept them all.
Go for 2, they are a real pain...but worth it!

i like to share my cute and lovely experience with my mother cat and three kitten two sisters and one son , the mother cat after giving birth had hidden its all three babies from view by strangers and when i went inside the house i was taken to the spot where they were hidden and kept by the mother cat coz it loves me a lot . and none of knew how itmade the area clean and tidy. without any smell of being dirty with excreta. moreover one day the tiny kitten had entered into my room following my footsteps and without knowing as i had to go for an emergency operation to my ot i locked my room and the kitten was left inside. on return i saw the mother and sister kitten were seen crying outside my room near the door and the son kitten was crying from inside and it was really a touching scene the way they play and make naughty fight we always enjoy. i have one male german shepard one lab, one puppy bull ,i also have varieties of fishes in my aquarium i love to play with my free birds, they are let free and they will come back inthe night to their habitat

i have. mine weren't even related, just about the same age. it was so cute watching them cuddle and give each other baths. when they're a little older they will play like no other, chasing each other around and wrestling until you separate them :) now they are about two and aren't together as much but still have a very close bond. since you don't have any other cats i would definitely recommend it so they can have a friend.

When I was 5 we got 2 new kittens called Roley and Pandy. They are boy and girl but we got them both neuted so roley isnt a tomcat. They occasianly fight but they have figured out that they shouldnt. If your going to get 2 kittens make sure you get them neuted so they cant get pregnant. I think it worked out great because even though they sometimes fight, they get along quite well.
