It's not normal, but it's not a problem either.

"Normal" vision, which people refer to as 20/20 vision simply means you need no correction at all. However, most people aren't normal:) More people wear glasses than don't.

What +1.00 means is that you are very slightly farsighted. Young people have excellent accomodation ("zoom") and I'm sure your eyes cope with it just fine. As you age your accomodation decreases. I was around that at your age. If they hadn't told me I'd never have noticed. It has never worsened. But now I'm in my 40's it makes it hard to read without glasses.

However, in hindsight I suffered headaches for years due to this, because it made no sense to me to wear glasses when I could see just fine. Therefore my advice to you is be guided by how it feels, not just how you see. If you start getting headaches, consider wearing glasses, it could save you a stomach ulcer from the painkillers..............

It's normal for any age. In fact, there is no "abnormal" refractive error. Refractive error is variable with quite a big range and any particular error can be found in people of any age.

I expect the question you meant to ask was "Do I need glasses"? The answer to that depends upon not just the refractive error but on your unaided acuity, your symptoms and your visual tasks demand. Those cannot be determined by a computer in an optics store and you need an eye examination by an eye doctor to answer that question.

Yes, that's pretty near the national average, and well within what a pair of eyes your age would normally deal with without glasses.

Most eyes are around +3.00 at birth, and this reduces during childhood growth, ending up with an adult average Rx of +0.50. 0.50 of astigmatism is also absolutely average.

There's a wide scatter on that, naturally, so many individuals need corrections, +ve and -ve.

Vision varies all over the lot, and even young folk sometimes need glasses. With that mild a prescription, you can get by well without them, but you will see better with glasses, so I would get some.
