I think that that if everybody lived by the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you) we'd be in a peaceful, beautiful world.

What's the purpose of "sins" that exist - that don't involve breaking the Golden Rule?

I think the problem may lie in your definition of sin - it is simply separation from God. It is any act, thought, deed, or word that takes us away from HIM, what he teaches in the Bible. It is divine and you seem to be trying to apply human logic.. It's much like "Because I said so", as uttered by God.

If HE is the creator of all things, then He will make the rules, Whether they make sense to human beings is not the point, whether He is honored, worshiped and in communion with us is

And any believer will tell you that all sin does harm others. If you take the commandments they all have to do with how humans relate to God, and so, in God's eyes, to not abide is also harmful to those who believe in him.

The concept of "sin" will likely not make logical sense to one who is not a Christian believer, as it is presented in The Bible.

Agree. Living by the golden rule would definitely bring about a peaceful and beautiful world.

But no idea, what are those sins that do not harm you or others ? Am genuinely interested in knowing about such sins.

What sin harms no one? I can't think of one. Even if the harm is "only" in the fact that it keeps you from praying, worshiping, and witnessing with a clear conscience, it is still harming. Give me a specific example of a sin that causes absolutely NO harm, not even emotional, and I'll see if I can come up with an answer.

BTW sometimes we don't see the harm, but its there. A person who works 7 days a week and never takes a Sabbath may not be actively hurting anyone, but over time their mental, physical, and emotional health, as well as their family, will suffer from it.

I honestly can't think of any sin that doesn't violate the golden rule or doesn't harm a person's own self in some way. Even with the sabbath; a mandatory day off keeps people sane.

i'm a catholic and it is not a "Sin" to consume meat. it incredibly is a few thing you pick to settle for as a Catholic - it incredibly is a incredibly elementary sacrafice to grant for all Christ offered us. you do no longer might desire to be Catholic. in case you do no longer settle for Jesus as your Saviour - it is not a sin. in case you're Jewish its your existence. whilst i pray for those human beings, it is not a "sin" persay as you do no longer stick to the Christian "rules" wearing pants as a woman..... it incredibly is a sparkling one those days. homosexuality is sripture based. it isn't the guy being a gay it incredibly is the intercourse act. premarital intercourse -- i do no longer understand a woman or maybe some adult adult males, who have not been harmed by way of pre-marital intercourse. even a drunken one evening stand has psychological reprecutions. you're degrading your self and the present God gave you. your physique is your temple and beginning your self to STD's & being pregnant -- there's no longer something a hundred% failsafe different than abstinence. won't be in a position to commen on driking sparsely as even Christ made useful there became wine for the marriage. have been yoy ever short with a teller or cahsier or different guy or woman and thought no longer something of it?? who's to declare you probably did no longer push that guy or woman (who might have been having a awful day) over the sting? i artwork interior the hospitality industry and in lots of cases - in simple terms smiling at somebody can exchange their day. whilst somebody is obtainable in and that i in a foul temper - the full workplace modifications and we don't enable them to close to the travellers. some thing so elementary as your ideas-set in direction of others can thoroughly have an inpact on somebody's existence....

I don't know of any sin that does not harm self or others. But most of all every sin is first against the Lord.

There are sins that affect others, and then sins that affect our relationship with God. Both have the same result, but God takes sins against others very seriously because they have broader consequences.

every sin harms others.if you undrstand, in every religion, the most serious of the sins are those which are slowly poisoning the society.in that way although thse sins are not directly affecting an indivisual, but by affecting society actually it does more harm. to indivisuals. or it is harmfull for the sinner himself. And since God created us we dont even have the right to harm ourselves

Because of Adam and Eve's decision to disobey God, their act of rebellion caused us to inherit the sin nature, and death. None of us are without sin.

The sin nature is what we are born with and sinning is what we do because of this nature. They can be thoughts such as lust and hate or, they can be actions such as fornication, adultery, murder, lies, steeling, coveting or etc.

Jesus, who is God in the flesh and never sinned, came to the earth to die, to forgive us of our sins and to remove the sin nature which brings us back into the original fellowship with God that He intended for us from the start. This is accomplished through Jesus' death on the cross for our sins, to take our place for the death and punishment that we deserve, instead of us.

Our goodness or following the Golden Rule can't remove this nature. Only through repentance and acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and our Savior, can His sacrifice apply to us. Jesus gives us the free gift of salvation, because of His sacrificial death and eternal life because of His resurrection from that death.

Jesus is alive and is now King of Kings and Lord of Lords and is the head of His church, the body of Christ, Christians.

Depends. How do you define "others"? Is torturing animals a sin, would you say?
