I emailed my ex bf and he still hasn't replied, it has been almost 2 weeks now, and no, he is not busy, he has been adding mutual friends of ours on facebook, so I know he has been on the net.

PS: We have both not requested each other on facebook.
I broke it off with him, then asked him if he wanted to try again a week after breaking up to which he said no.

Additional Details
I am over him. I just want to keep him as a friend, he is facing some tough times, and I am genuinely worried, not in a romantic sense, I have moved on, but still care for him, and have known him a long time.

Breaking up for anyone is a difficult thing. So I'm sure he's hurt. However, if he hasn't responded to your email then there's nothing you can do. You can't make him want to be your friend and it sounds like he's not ready to be your friend.

He may want to try and be your friend after he's been able to sort out his feelings. And if he has other things going on in his life, then it's likely that he's just really stressed out and just needs some time to himself.

I would just let him be, and hopefully he'll be able to put the hurt feelings behind him and you two can be friends again.

Good luck.

Leave it alone. If he wants to email you, he will. I'm sure he will be okay. If you appear to "need" his attention in the guise of concern, that is not going to work. So keep yourself distracted and busy, and forget him as much as possible. Life goes on, keep moving forward.

its probably still hard for him to view only as his friend...give him sometime and if he neeeds a friend he'll seek you

Move on properly.

He'll be alright and doesn't need (and doesn't want) you to be caring for him.
