Why should I vote? There are two parties that could ever possibly win (anyone who disagrees is dillusional), and they both suck. Either a Republican gets elected, lowers taxes because which raises the national debt, and starts a war, or a Democrat gets elected, does nothing, and folds under even the slightest of international pressures. Voting in America seems to be mainly about picking a guy from one of the two real choices that seems to suck the least. My political leanings tend to fall somewhere near the Democrat line. It is quite obvious that in the next election, one of the "novelty" minority candidates will be picked, and then crushed when the Republicans pull some non issue out of their *** like gay marriage (quickly follwed by the sheep screaming about God's will) Hell, with corporate lobbies, who's to say a President from either party wouldn't just be the same man (yes, twill still be a white Christian male, believe it) with a different gloss? What is even the point?

If more people votes, we would have better choices. Vote. Then you can ***** and moan for the next 4 years about whomever is elected. It is not democracy (which is why it is amusing that we want to tell the world how to run their elections), but until enough people complain to their Senators and Representatives, it is the best we can have.

I would just like to point out that there is a big difference between believing in international cooperation and "fold[ing] under even the slightest international pressures."

But anyway, every person the the corrupt big-business politicians convince not to vote represents a victory for their rich masters. We don't usually get the best candidate, but by not voting the truly insane get to have that much louder of a voice, and their guy ends up in charge. I don't like holding my nose when I vote either, but I'll still take a petty thief over a full-blown pirate.

Agree with you. The country no longer belongs to We The
People.
I wonder what the founding fathers of this country would have
thought of PAC's., lobbyist and all kinds of special interest
groups. They sure are the buying of America.
Wish they could have put a time limit as to how long we would
have to listen the candidates before the elections. '
Two years of listening to gobbledygook is way too long.
They change like the wind after every weekly poll is taken.

If you don't vote don't gripe about the way things are. You're either a part of the solution or a part of the problem. And man, you could really use some Prozac.

Evil happens when good people do nothing or don't care.
Whilst you may not be particularly inspired, cynicism is the easy response, helps no one and erodes the accountability that politicians feel obliged to provide the electorate.

Vote for the lesser evil and exercise your right because it is the only potent weapon remaining in your arsenal to choose your leader.

Your right. Don't vote. Leave it to people who can sort through the issues.
