Send him back to the ER and insist they run more tests on him. Who knows maybe he did not tell the doctors how he was really feeling. He has to be honest.

If he is still having chest pain he needs to go back to the ER and tell the ER doc that the chest pain is not any better..they wont send him away this time without hopefully admitting him and doing a stress test and doing lab work to make sure he didnt have a heart attack.
Good Luck

Also, if he didnt let the ER know he was taking X let them know this time so they know what theyre dealing with.

I had chest pains once, but i didn't do X.

if i were you i'd run over to walgreens and buy some prilosec.
that helps so much.

just take one a day for 14 days.
then wait three months and do it again, and again. if needed.

if the problem persists, go to the ER again and explain to them that he needs help.

Keep him comfortable and warm and away from anything he can react to, dont let him watch telly, talk to him yourself, tell him he doesnt have to answer, just listen, if things dont get better soon, take him back to ER - this time tell them he's had X

Just try to keep him calm.
After it wears off, you need to take the next step and DUMP HIM FAST!!!!
The last thing anyone needs is some wacked out drug addict as a significant other.
If you had children they would be mortal danger and you would probably lose them to child services for hanging around a guy like that.
