I am either going to get a new 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4x4 with a hemi, or a new 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.9 liter Cummins Diesel. They are both automatics, with the SLT trim package. The diesel is one that still has the old 5.9 liter cummins in it, not the new 6.7. I commute 45 miles 7 days a week to work and school, mostly highway. I often pull either an 8 foot trailer and 1 atv or a 16 foot trailer with 3 ATVs. Also I do a lot of hauling around a commercial mower. Currently I have a Dodge Dakota Laramie that I bought new 1 year ago, it is a V-8 4x4, but it is just not big enough. So which one of those two would you choose from?

Go for the diesel. You drive far enough to get it warm each day and you certainly tow enough to warrant the diesel. With the diesel you'll enjoy better mileage and better performance for a vehicle of this size. A loaded hemi is a dog compared to the Cummins. Be glad you're getting the 5.9 too.
Also come over to http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/ for good information on the Cummins and the Dodge in general.
I have a 2007 5.9 Quad Cab 4x4 with a 6 speed. I'm getting right at 20 mpg and its a lot of fun to drive. Theres a guy I work with that has a Quad Cab 4x4 automatic with a hemi and his truck isn't nearly as fun. Sure it can pull the same loads (kinda) but it won't do it as fast and it gets horrible mileage at the same time. Don't listen to the comment about the PowerWagon either. Its a nice truck but your still stuck with the hemi.

Ford all the way. Consider this Ford sales more commercial trucks then any other manufacture in the world. When companies buy trucks they do not consider advertising or style and of any of the things that consumers get so caught up with. They consider how well the Truck preforms the work it was intended to do. For 40 years more companies have chosen Ford then any other truck. Also do yourself a favor stop by a dealership and get the DVD "truth about trucks." that will give you a lot of solid information.

take the diesel truck you,ll be a lot more pleased with the fuel mileage and also the performance and pulling power it has,the hemi truck is going to get about 15 miles to the gallon if your lucky, the diesel truck will get close to twenty miles to the gallon real easy, and is a lot more reliable than the gas engine is,and will out last it about ten times over also, they usually run 3-400 thousand with very little problems, the gas engine is not going to do that, good luck on it.

I would choose the Toyota Tundra 5.7.
Wait a minute...I DID choose the Tundra!
Awesome truck by the way.
But don't buy one, or they won't be so special anymore. Seriously, take one for a test drive before you decide.
