No atheist can be certain that God does not exists, because God does exist.
Please check this blog
http://esoriano.wordpress.com/2007/05/24/the-most-advanced-ancient-book-of-all-time/
and its archives
http://esoriano.wordpress.com/archives/
which refutes arguments of atheist.
Reading the articles makes you see that atheist do not have any valid reasoning at all.
Here is an example of a wisdom of God that atheist can't refute.
-----
Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek [it] out, yet he shall not find [it]; yea further; though a wise [man] think to know [it], yet shall he not be able to find [it].
ECCLESIATES 8:17
-----
It say's that no man will be able to know ALL the work of God under the sun, that's only under the sun if one scrutinizes it carefully, not even now that science is so advance, no one can say that science already knows what are the creatures on the sea. And that is only under the sea, but the verse say's that man cannot know all work'sof God under the sun, much more those over it. And as the scriptures say's it, man would not discover it all, and that is irrefutable, proving that the word of God is true and no one can deny it.
The work of God shows that he exist.
----
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork.
Psalms 19:1

which contains podcast recordings on irrefutable wisdom of God proving atheist doesn't know anything about God. Atheists still have time to study and try to refute it. If they really believe they have sound reasoning.

Because all scriptures regarding the existance of personal Gods have been proven false. Including the bible.
We don't deny the idea of a 'watch-maker' God, an enitity that created the universe if you will.
However, this means that there are no sins, heaven and hell and all that stuff that controls your life. Our rules should not be made up by some guys claiming them to be Gods rule, but common law that most people are in consensus of, eg. No murder, violence, stealing, etc.
This is how most democratic nations are at the moment, and we don't appreciate fake rules thrown on us by the religious fundamentalists.
That's my 2 cents worth!

I am an Atheist, and not all Atheists believe the same thing, just as all Christians do not believe the same thing. I simply do not believe that any god exists. I am not 100% certain, but in my heart I just do not believe. To me, there is no proof that he/she is real or is not real. Growing up I was forced into religion, but I never had that connection with it. In my heart, I don't think that I ever truly believed. Again, not all Atheists think this way.

I dont require a god in my life to make it better. Therefore i choose not to believe for he is irrelevant in my life. Am i sure? No! Do I have evidence he exists? No! Do i need to know? No! Will knowing make my life better? It will probably not change, so, No!
Tackle your question? Hmm lets see:
How can you be certain he exists?
Nuff sed

As an agnostic, I have failed to see any proof of one. And that's the same reason I don't believe in magnetic therapy, ghosts, UFO abductions, new age healing rocks, or Odin, Auseklis, Laima, or the literally thousands of gods that have been around.
PS La verde's link is terrible. It's basically someone who wants to make the Bible into a science book. It fails on so many levels as one, and any coincidences of expression is immediately hailed at prophet-like. Waste of time

I know that there is a God. Sometimes there are just things that you just know that you know. There have been a few things happen in my family that really shouldn't have happened except by God taking care of these situations. But I also would like to think that we are not in this alone. And, I would rather live like there is a God and be surprised if there isn't than live like there is not a God and be surprised... But that is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

They are as certain about god as anyone else. They don't know for sure and neither do I but I have faith. And believing in something is in every good a way better than believing in nothing. Kinda like saying I don't like this or theres no such thing as that, but not saying what there is and exactly what you like.

I've never said I'm certain (not in the way that you seem to mean, at least). I'm an agnostic atheist. I don't think there's any way to know whether a god exists... I simply don't believe that one does.

I am not CERTAIN there is no god. I just haven't found any proof. How can you be so certain about anything whatsoever, religious or not?
I have always been an atheist. OK, that is not completely true. I am not an atheist. I am not a believer. I am not an agnostic. I am none of these because the answer to god's existence is unimportant.
People ask what would convince me that god truly exists. While I am not sure, I am certainly open to any tangible evidence. I do not know what evidence would convince me because I believe it is impossible to prove the existence of god. What evidence would convince you that god does not exist? See the dilemma: it is difficult to answer their question! See falsifiability (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiability ) for an explanation of theory and the rules of evidence.
Do not quote bible passages as evidence of god's existence. This is my standard of proof, not yours. However, if proof were proffered that convinced me god exists, I would change absolutely nothing in my life or my behavior. The existence or not of god does not matter. Like many humans I live a purposeful life and god does not add more purpose.
What if evidence were produced that convinced you god does not exist with certainty (evidence according to your standards of proof)? What would you change in your life?
- Would you stop evangelizing?
- Would you start sinning more?
- Would you stop helping those less fortunate than you?
- Would you feel that life is meaningless?

I am not.
However, are you certain that unicorns do definitely not exist? Do you believe in them?
I can be pretty certain that the god described in any holy text I have come across is not real.
The gods described are contradictory, the books have major errors in them and contradict reality.
For you to believe in unicorns it is not unreasonable that you demand some level of evidence you justify that belief.
Can you provide that evidence to persuade me to believe in god?
