Can there be a rational discussion or must some people always take the slanted (wrong) view of United States international policy?

Afghanistan doesn't have any oil, or really anything that the Americans want. Iraq's oil will never finance the cost of occupying Iraq. America's involvement with Indonesia is limited.

Our involvement with the Muslim world was mostly a response to the growing influence of the Soviets. We propped up every petty dictator from the Shah to Suharto because they were anti-communist. Turned out to be a big mistake - we would have been better off allowing all of these countries to fall to Communist revolutions. Maybe the result would be less religious fanaticism now that the Soviets are gone.

When ever has America ever started anything? I will agree we go all out with the pay pack. Japan blew up a few boats, we blew up a few thousand buildings. The "Islamic World" blew up a couple buildings, America blew up a few Countries. Its just the way we work, we get pushed we push back a lot harder. That's the point of being the big brother. Never ever let your little brother push you around. I don't agree with war, I was in Iraq and I was able to serve my country. I don't agree with everything that has happened but it was to protect my country, my way of life as so every American can sleep under the blanket of security people like me helped to provide then so be it.

is it americas fault that they are basically every third world countries big brother. Everyone says the US should stay out of other countries business but the truth is the US military is crucial in holding together regions. Without US Influence there would be even more uprisings then there already is. and like the person said above me, we may have some extremely devoted Christians but last time i turned on CNN it was the muslims burning flags and posting execution videos of American soldiers on TV...not US.

Because the preferred form of suicide in the Islamic world is to explode dangerous devices around innocent people.

You want a diplomatic solution? Quit killing innocent people!

The best solution is for all the radical Wahhabi muslims in the world to receive a claymore colonoscopy from their friendly neighborhood American soldier.

Hey...if Islamic countries feel antagonized by the US, tell them to start giving back the US money that goes to them as foreign aid. Including the food, blankets, and so on, and all the help we gave Indonesia after the tsunami.
And tell them to stop rioting in the streets when people in Denmark exercise their freedoms.
Do they feel antagonized? OFW! Act like animals...be treated like animals.

to put a presence there, and eventually gain power there, or at least money.

what would be nice, would be if the world suddenly realized that power from oil, isn't such a great idea and that sustainable, less -damaging resources must be used to supply energy.

when that happens, all the politcs, all the financial backers will have a rude awakening, thier fortune and thier plan to have all the money in the world will be useless.

and these powers won't let this happen.
that is why electric cars are just now starting to be used.
that's why nuclear power hasn't become the norm.
these two things are disasterous to oil tycoons.

I just realized that the push towards a green planet is in the direct opposite interest of the oil grubbing powers that be.
I hope it's a revolution, a green revolution, it may be starting, we'll see.

thank you Bay its time Americans stopped playing the victim and took responsibility for Americas actions and understood that terrorism is retaliation for the misery that US policies cause to innocent people the world over
from supporting despot tyrants and tin pot dictators to invading innocent countries for no better reason than greed and because they can
But as America is now on its way out and China on its way in Americans might start seeing things from a different perspective in the not too distant future
What goes around comes around
