If I'm by myself - LOCKED. There is no sense taking a stupid chance. There are creeps everywhere. A co-worker of mine was leaving work once when some dude walked up to her car and tried to open the passenger side door - fortunately her doors were locked or who knows what would have happened. Maybe he would have just grabbed her purse - maybe he would have pulled a weapon on her and told her to drive him somewhere. Or worse.

Locked, always. Camel Herder makes a very valid point, though. That's something to think about..... Anywho, I knew a truck driver who was held up at gunpoint in the middle of the day at a stoplight in town. He had his door unlocked, so some moron just walked up in the middle of the street and opened his door. Remember the LA riots years ago, when the mob opened that trucker's door, and dragged him out in the street and beat him? If he had his doors locked, at least it would have been more difficult for them! Still something to think about.....guess there are both pros and cons to the idea..

Used to always drive with them locked. Then through no fault of my own I was involved in a serious head on crash and the fire brigade had to get me out. However, if I had my doors unlocked then the simple fact is a passing member of the public could have opened them which in my case this Samaritan tried.

you're assuming subject that neither is right here or there. It relatively does not remember in case you rigidity with them locked or no longer. Emergency team has what's asserted as a punch gadget. They press it against your window and it shatters. Now in case your in an twist of fate and plunge 20 feet right into a river or a lake and you haven't any longer have been given a punch gadget to get out...your gonna die whilst your doors do no longer open. the percentages which you will ever finally end up in this place isn't unlikely, yet very narrow it is going to ever ensue to you on your lifetime, yet in any journey. you may desire to understand a thank you to get out of your automobile in an emergency subject once you need to regardless if the doors are locked or open. The punch gadget is an extremely advantageous piece of equipment to have.

Unlocked, but I would consider locking them if I was in a particularly bad area. Also I have a Panic Button for the central locking.

It is always advisable to drive with doors unlocked. If you have an accident, if doors locked, Fireman can't get in to save you and passengers. I wish you well. Terry.
