why did god want onan to impregnate his brothers wife? and why did onan pull out? i read somewhere onan wouldnt have been punished if the woman swallowed his seed?...but then whats the point of them having sexual relations if it isnt to procreate?

i know he pulled out so he wouldnt impregnate her...but then why did he even do it if it wasnt for procreation? this other website said since god is angry with 'seed spillage' and all, god wouldnt have punished him if it were fellatio...?

It's not that Onan pulled out. He actually masturbated so as to not have intercourse with his sister-in-law. That is why male masturbation is called the Sin of Onanism.

Onan "pulled out" so as not to impregnate her, contrary to his promise to God, so, he was punished. Onan essentially turned the act from one of procreation to one of pleasure.

The most basic answer is that when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, they were commanded to be fruitful and replenish the earth. By pulling out, Onan was defying a god's command.

EDIT: Seed spillage/wastage is not the issue. It is going against the alleged god's alleged will.

Onan was rebelling. He meant to rebel against what he was told to do. Onan picked the wrong time to not listen. God saw to that.

God makes The Rules... play by God's Rules... or... ultimately... you lose... God said to do it... that is all that one who belongs to God needs to know....btw... it had nothing to do with fellatio
