I have constant pain in my right side (upper) - I have no gallbladder (taken out last year). Noticeably worse with deep breaths or coughing. Sore to touch my ribs. Any thoughts?

A few of possibilities:

1) a hiatal hernia

2) intercostal muscle spasms

3) both 1 and 2

4) a myofascial pain syndrome

Have you seen your family Chiropractor for an evaluation?

Best wishes and good luck.

you could have pleurisy which is an inflammation or infection of the pleural lining of the lungs.

A friend of mine recently had severe pain and was told she had liver stones. They gave her medication which helped her.

By all means, go to a doctor ASAP. Neither condition should be ignored.

See a medical doctor right away.
Don't put this off.
Could be nothing, or it could be serious.
