I don't care where you go, there's going to be that one person that flirts with you at work. How do you feel about this and if you have any specific examples, include it.

I think that innocent flirting is okay. We are all human and some people just naturally flirt with others or enjoy that kind of attention. I am currently dealing with this in my workplace. However, the situation is pretty uncomfortable because I have a boyfriend and this guy at work is always coming on so strong! I've told him numerous times that I have a boyfriend, but because I'm shy, it's hard for me to be a ***** to guys like this!

I think there's a level of flirting that's okay for the workplace, but when it starts to cross over into harassment, that's where the line has to be drawn, obviously!

For anyone, it's a bad idea. You look like a fool. This is business, and you should leave the other stuff outside the door. What if you end up supervising someone you previously flirted with...or more.

For women, if you want to be taken seriously, don't flirt. Dress appropriately, act appropriately...don't perpetuate the caricature of a woman only working until she finds a man.

For men, avoid being accused of sexual harrassment.

Both these things can be reveresed too. Men can act like floozies and women can act like predators.

I like to use my charm in the workplace to get the support I need. A bit of flirtation is part of the charm, and it has served me well in getting certain jobs done quickly and painlessly. There is nothing wrong with flirtation, as long as it is not sexual in nature. When the flirtation becomes sexual, then you're stepping into dangerous territory.

I am a model, but I kept my p/t job. Some of my coworkers at my p/t job think because I am a model, I must like flirting for some reason.
In actuality it makes me very uncomortable.

It's human nature that when people of the opposite gender are placed in the confines of a repeated close-knit setting, that they would naturally pair off. It's inevitable as well, for other psychological reasons, that subordinates are usually attracted to their superiors on some level.

It is unprofessional, inappropriate and offensive behavior in the workplace. If 2 coworkers flirt and it makes you sick and uncomfortable, inform Human Resources immediately. Shame.....Shame......!
