Both of my boys walked at 8-9 months. But every child is different

My daughter was cruising (walking while holding the coffee table, chair, whatever) at 7months and was walking by herself at just under 9 months. But the average is anywhere between 8 - 18 months. almost every book & magazine I've read said that if they're not walking after 18months you should worry. It said it doesn't mean that there's something wrong, just you should talk to your pediatrician about it. anyway... hope I helped!! and actually my pediatrician (and a few magazines) said that some babies could actually skip crawling all together & they were fine... (just correcting the myth a previous answerer stated....)

My daughter started at 10 months, but I've known children that started walking anywhere from 9-15 months that went on to develop gross motor skills equally well. Children just have their own motivation and risk taking levels. What is more important is that they don't skip crawling--it helps with major brain development and fine motor skills.

Both of mine were just after they turned 10 months (a boy and a girl). However my friends son didn't start walking until he was 12 months, my cousin's son didin't start walking until he was 12 months, and I watched a little girl who didn't start walking until she was 16 months. But I think all of these are in the normal range for babies to start walking.

My oldest son started walking at 12 months. My youngest one started at 8 months, but he never learned to crawl at all. Every child is different.

The average age is right around 12 months, but some do it quite a bit earlier or later.

my experience with my two children ( a boy and a girl) was between 13 to 18 months old. but most often they do vary. the moment a child learns how to stand, it is a good idea to help her walk about. a shoe with good traction is a good help to start with.

my 4 yr old started walking when she was 14 months old but I started walking at 10 months old.It just depends on the child.Just dont force it on them though.I think thats why mine took so long to walk because I kept on hounding her to let go and walk
