I had a dream that there was this huge spider in my bed and we were trying to figure out how to trap/kill it. Nobody wanted to squish it because it was so big and we were afraid to get near it. Finally, my mom got a huge board the size of a door, threw it on the bed and started jumping on it. The spider was squished and died.

You are battling a fear. The dream in this spider is obviously representative of a fear that you have.
Perhaps it is subconcious of a worry that you may have about your mother, however, you understand that she is strong enough to overcome this fear that you have on her behalf. Or maybe there is some more general fear, and you see your mother as the one that would be able to fix things.

The spider probably represents a fear or seemingly insurmountable problem in your life, and your dream allows you to be comforted and believe that someone will make the problem go away. It also teaches you to think through "scary" things in order to overcome them. Spiders just represent something, repulsive, harmful, frightening or problematic, etc. The dream is very healthy because you face the problem and it is overcome. If this interpretation rings true, you might try killing the "spider" yourself, if you have a similar dream in the future. I don't know your age, but I assume you live with your mom, and it is totally appropriate to turn to her for help. The dream shows that you feel safe with your mom. I think it's a great dream. Good question. Mine was about three people-sized multicolored tarantulas on my living room walls and celling. My sister and I were trying to swat them with the broom but they were way too big for us to squish too. I think my dream released a gigantic fear (that I had about tarantulas because I saw some that evening crawling up my door to get in my house (I live in AZ). I knew nothing about them. I went on the internet and read all I could the next day and my fears totally subsided. I also never dreamt about them again.

maybe the spider resembles in issue or problem you have currently been avoiding because you didn't want to deal with because you couldn't figure out a simple way.
but subconciously you know there's only one way to squish the spider or get rid of your "problem". you will eventually have to overcome the problem and work through those fears or anxietys, because it's the only way.
but what the hell do i know.

Hmmm...as an empath, it LOOKS like an overstated response to a PERCEIVED threat, that is actually, just not that major. Nobody else wanted to deal w/ it, bc it just wasn't that big a deal.
Your mother represents someone who wants to *save* you, though you don't NEED saving.
