I found my girlfriend hysterically crying in our bed, so I layed down beside her, wrapped my arms around her, and tried to get her to tell me what was wrong, but she wouldn't say anything. She finally told me that she doesn't want me to ever leave her, but I'm not planning on it, and I don't understand why she would even be thinking I would do that. Everything is okay between us. Then, she told me to get out of the room, because she needed time to get over me. About 3 minutes later, she came downstairs, and hugged me, and started crying hysterically again, and now she won't let me go. She's been glued to me for almost 3 hours. I'm not complaining. I'm here when she needs me and she obviously needs me, but what could be going on? Why would she think I'm leaving her for forever, then tell me to go away, then get all clingy?

A long time ago I cheated on a boyfriend, and before I told him I was acting really upset, asking him to reassure how much he loved me, and making sure he knew how much I loved him.

I feel bad even saying this, but your situation really reminded me of the way I had acted.

It could also be many other things. I know girls get really emotional sometimes, they just need to be reassured at times. She could just be a little insecure at the moment.

My advice is to just try and talk to her, hopefully she will be honest about how she's feeling.

Good luck =]

Has she ever had any previous boyfriends die?

I ask this because this reminds me of how I acted after I lost a boyfriend to a drunk driver and began dating again. I was in a serious relationship for the first time since, and became paranoid he'd be taken away from me, too, like T was. I was terrified that I'd go through it all again.

I remember one night I woke up, just hysterical I'd lose him...and he tried comforting me by saying he wasn't going anywhere and it just kind of made me more upset...because I'd heard that before and look what happened. I just needed to be alone.

Yea, I clung to him for a while afterwards, just to reassure myself he was still there.

Wow, thats odd. Maybe she's on her "monthly thing" and she's a little emo. Sometimes I have really bad dreams about my husband dying or leaving me and it makes me cry cause the dreams feel so real. Believe it or not I get the same way and I'll cling for about a day or two but without the crying. Just talk to her, I'm sure everything will be fine, you seem to be very understanding. Good Luck!!

Maybe she did something that she figures you'll never forgive her for and figures your going to leave her, so she wants to hear you say you'll never leave her so when she does tell you something bad, she can throw it in your face and say you said you'd never leave me!

Girls are crazy like that....

There may be something she is not telling you, and you need to get to the bottom of it.

OR

She is a drama queen, and you need to get a new gf
