Its simple, I'll show you. See Mark16:16, John 3:5, Acts 2:38-9, acts 10:48, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-4, I Cor. 6:11, Gal. 3:27, Col. 2:11-12, I Peter 3:20-21, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12. The simple answer to your question is no. We must follow the plan of salvation. Repent, be baptized in Jesus' name, receive the Holy Ghost, endure to the end.

A person can, but that doesn't mean they should choose not to get baptized. Other people gave you the verses, I'll just say that Baptism is the outward sign of something that already happened inwardly, the death to the old life and coming into new life. So if a person accepted Christ, and arranged for baptism, then got hit by a car and died before their baptism, of course they would be saved. However, a person who just chooses not to undergo baptism, well that would cause me to wonder if they really HAD accepted Christ in the first place, since they weren't willing to obey Him.
Okay, I'll give one verse, even though someone else already did. Ephesians 2:7-9
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Like any good work, it does not save us, but a truly saved person will not willingly leave that good work undone, because they will love our Lord enough to do that which pleases Him.

IF you have the opportunity to be bapsized then TAKE IT.
But our salvation requires our believing. Our Regeneration is our believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Lord looked at the thief on the cross and said that today he would be with Him in paradise.
For us to sit here and question this man's salvation by believing is to tell the Lord that He cannot take this one with Him to Paradise. The Lord would not take a sinner there... He will only take one who is qualified. If the Lord can qualify this one.. who are we to even shadow this man's salvation with a question of doubt.
To quote James 2:19 to nullify the believing only aspect of being regenerated is to truly step on a line that is dangerous. That even satan believes. He believes because he knows the truth. But satan does not believe from his heart.
The word is very clear
Acts 8:37
And Philip said, If you believe from all your HEART you will be saved. And he answered and said" I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 15:11
But we believe that that through the grace of the Lord Jesus we are saved in the same way also as they are
Acts 16:31
And they said Believe on the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved. you and your household.
ROmans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Himfrom the Dead you will be saved.
YOu mentioned something with regard the veil at the time of the Lord's death being rent from the top to the bottom as a significant happening to attest to the fact that the salvation is now free to all. We can become all anylatical and use this as an argument to judge this man's salvation. But we need to remember that by that man's believing that this Jesus Christ who was hanging next to Him was the Son of God ...Jesus Christ forgave him of his sins. HE probably got the freshest cleansing.. I tell you .. this one is blessed. Before any of us could use the Lord's blood.. This man got to while it still flowed from the Lord's veins. WOW
He is so blessed.
Dear one.. Lets us rejoice as the angels did on that day.. tha this one has received the Salvation that the Lord has provided for him on that day.. even at that 11th hour of his life.
THought provoking question.
but lets remember.. this man we are talking about is a brother in the Lord .. in the same way we would not want anyone quesioning our salvation . we should not question His or the effectiveness and truth of the Lord's Word to Him. If the Lord said He would be with Him in paradise.. THEN Let God be true and every man a liar... including satan.
IN Christ

People cannot be saved without the intention of doing what Jesus said - like getting baptized for one (Mat 28:19,20), even if they don't manage to get wet (Luke 23:43; Acts 10:47). Likewise they must have the intention of repenting from sin - even though they may later fall short of perfection.

Well, the thief on the cross went to Heaven without being baptized, so I would say yes.
Luke 23: 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
Eph 2:9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;
Salvation is a complete work of God, no works, even baptism, can bring salvation. Baptism is a result of salvation, not a cause.
Rom 8:29 because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
This is the salvation process, we are predestined to salvation, called or awakened from our dead through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, forgiven, redeemed and justified, and glorified. Baptism is not mentioned here at all.

Hi there,
Here we go.....
According to me it is not necessary to be baptized but should you have the opertunity, then I would say yes, for it is the outward identification of the death, burial and resurection of Jesus.
Is this why Catholics believe one must be baptised in order to be saved?
Mt 3:16-17
And when Jesus was baptised, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him; and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
John 3: 3-5
Jesus answered and said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a person once grown old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter his mother's womb and be born again, can he?" Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.
Acts 2: 38-39
Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call."
Acts 22: 16
Now, why delay? Get up and have yourself baptized and your sins washed away, calling upon his name.'
Romans 6: 1-4
What then shall we say? Shall we persist in sin that grace may abound? Of course not! How can we who died to sin yet live in it? Or are you unaware that we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life.
1 Corinthians 6: 9-11
Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God. That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 12: 13
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.
Galatians 3: 26-27
For through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Ephesians 5: 25-26
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word,
Colossians 2: 11-12
In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not administered by hand, by stripping off the carnal body, with the circumcision of Christ. You were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
Titus 3: 5
not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy, he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit,
1 Peter 3: 18-21
For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit. In it he also went to preach to the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient while God patiently waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few persons, eight in all, were saved through water. This prefigured baptism, WHICH SAVES YOU NOW .
Salvation is a gift that consists of many other things. So when you open the gift you will find inside:
1. Salvation -forgiveness of sins
2. Babtism in water
3. Babtism in fire
4. Justification
5. Sanctification
So, the choice is yours are you taking one part of the gift or are you taking the whole gift.
Take Care
In Christ
