Take on an angry brown bear with a Colt M1851 .36 precussion revolver? (assuming it was completely and preoperly loaded)
I'td obviously be fairly dangerous, but would it be worth a thousand bucks to you?

No.

The M-1851 Navy Model is one of my favorite handguns, but it don't have the horsepower to handle a large bear. Hell, it doesn't have enough power to reliably stop a PO'd blackbear!

I mean it has no more power than a standard velocity .38 SPL for crying out loud!!!

Now if you offer me a brace of Colt Walker Dragoons, or a brace of LeMat's and boosted the cash a bit, we might be able to work a deal.

You'd better come up with more money than that if you want to see me put on a show like that. Now days, you can drop a thousand bucks in change around a parking meter. For a million bucks, you might, just might, get my attention. Bump it to five million and hand me the pistol and point to the bear.

not sure how old you are so the usual suspects are - babysitting, cleaning, selling stuff on ebay, tutoring. make sure to put the money in an interest bearing account, its just a tiny bit but it helps and will be out of the way also the market has been way down so maybe buy a stock that pays a good dividend and take a chance on that with some of what you have

Make it a .44 and have 40 grains of black powder in the chambers and the caps slightly crimped so that they would not fly off nipples of chambers not fired yet. Oh, and you would have to pay me one million (cash) and let me wear a bomb squad suit and a helmet. I'd also have to have the luxury of a full frontal expected battle, not some bear jumping me. The face off would have to be canned.

not a chance in hades of my trying such a foolish stunt. Not for any price. Obviously, if I were only armed with that particular mouse gun, and a griz was eating my foot with the intention of working his way up, I'd empty that sucker into it's eyes and nose and pray for divine intervention!!

Yes - assuming the bear is angry with someone else......I'd sneak up behind him an BAM! clock him over the head with the revolver.

I wouldn't try armed with a B.A.R. and hand grenades for a back up!
