I have a cold and my friend said a good way is throwing up or getting a fever...I hat throwing up so....

I meant to say a good way of getting rid of the sold is to throw up or get a fever

The reason your friend said to do that may be because: the reason your body gets a fever when it is sick is because an elevated temperature is a hostile environment for the bacteria or virus.. which is why a fever goes with an infection or sickness.
The vomiting happens when your body is trying to get rid of whatever is hurting it. The cold is not in your stomach though so throwing up isn't going to help.
If a fever will help, you will get a fever. If you don't have one then it's not necessary.

Isn't having a cold bad enough? You can't give yourself a fever. You can make yourself throw up, but that's not going to change your cold....for the better or worse.
