no offense to the other girl, but don't write a note...its not as mature as talking to them in person...i would play back with him and mention that a girl he knows is wanting to go out with him but don't say its you right then if you would rather not...if he keeps asking who it is, then just play along with it...if he really likes you he will show it by flirting...and if he is smart he will pick up on it.
if no keep flirting with him and dropping hints that you like him more than a friend

good luck! :)

Boys tend to play around very much with girls hearts, and they don't even notice that we (girls) take serious any move they make. If you say that the flirting comes from both of you, although you are unsure if he is serious, I think you should wait for more obvious hints that could tell you that this boy likes you, because honestly all boys like flirting, it feeds their self-esteem. I don't think you should jump to conclusions just because his best friend mentioned that he liked you because you never know if the best friend was playing as well.
I suggest to wait for better hints than just flirting, it may avoid you being rejected if he is not serious.
Good luck

Try to talk to a mutual friend about it and maybe he can put the idea in his head. He may not want to mess up a good friendship. If all else fails, just get gutsy and talk to him yourself. That would be the first key to a good relationship. The same thing happened to me and I was afraid of ruining a good friendship. She ended up being the one to say something, quite blunt, but efficient.

Just ask him out, he sounds like the kind of guy that does not take the initiative. Once you take the first step, he will just go along and will become less shy as he now knows you are interested.

I think the guy is just shy. You need to let him know that you would like to go out with him.

Well you should write him a note then either just give it to him or stick it in his locker! Or just tell him-if your not shy!

Tell him, casually, that if he asked you out, you would say yes. If he doesn't get the hint, ask him first!
