-type what you want in the cell on the far left
-left click to highlight the columns you want your text centered in
-right click in the highlighted area
-click format cells
-click the alignment tab
-click in the horizontal box...choose "center across selection"

Type your content, and choose "center across selection" tab from the menu...

You'll get very familiar once you start using it. Its same like in any other application.
