I have held two jobs this year at different times, but was not employeed the entire year. I made roughly roughly 8 grand at the first job, and two grand at the current one. I am eighteen years old living on a budget and have claimed zero. What can i expect for tax returns this year? its just a question of curiosity, nothing really hinges on it. Thanks

If you live with your parents, then you can't claim yourself since they can claim you unless you paid over half of your own support. You might have - it depends partially on what you did with the money you earned.

You'll owe some tax on what you made in either case, so you won't get it all back. But without knowing what was withheld, it's impossible to say how much.

What is your filing status? It may be Single Dependent since your parents can claim you as dependent. If they can claim you as dependent, you don't get your personal exemption. Before you file your return, It is always better to discuss your filing status with your parents.

On the earned income of $10,000 the federal income tax for Single Dependent is $465 and for Single Nondependent is $125. Your refund depends upon how much was withheld.
