Keeping everything in perspective. I try to maintain a good head and also a good sense of humor about things. I always think before I answer and if something is really going to bother me then I tend to not go near the question. Or if I'm led into a question and feel it would just upset me to deal with it then I move on. I don't take thumbs down seriously as everyone has an agenda. I am usually courteous to everyone even if I disagree. I've been here for almost a year. I think the lighter you can keep your heart the better.

I'm still new here, but not on the net, and maybe there is something I can contribute. Thank you for allowing me to do so.
Keep it interesting, fresh and as new as possible. Be polite, informative and kind. If something comes off as being upseting, sit back take a breath and think that since this is written word, it doesn't always come off the way it is meant to. If it was meant to then, shrug it off as best as possible and remember you don't live with them, you don't have to go home to them, you can block them. Ask me how, I'm very good a blocking, banning and well even changing usernames if needed. In fact I thnk I start out that way at this place because of another place, but I was bored with the last name anyway! Lmao
I've been places where there were constant witch wars, and such and really...they don't last that way. It's rediculous. But so far, I'm very happy here, and learning and loving everyone I have met.
Many Blessings...Luv's ya!

I have almost made it to level 6, and I have been here off and on for over a year, although I have been off mostly until a couple of months ago. Anyways, the secret is not to ask too many questions, especially controversial ones that push an agenda. If you are pushing a certain view, you will be reported by those who are against it, regardless of the view you present.

Hello, my name is Carole and I've been answering questions for a year and a half... I started, just wanting to check it out and was instantly hooked. I keep playing in waves and it's the dialog with the world at large that keeps me playing. I love to find interesting questions, people who seem to believe similarly to me or a new idea that I haven't thought about. I often find questions about what's on my mind at any given time also, so the writing helps me to sort my own thoughts quite nicely, as well.
Another great question - thanks!
Peace!

I don't know, but mainly I guess the secret is stay nice and stay to the point, I guess. Answer questions as directly as possible. If you keep getting reported for dumb reasons, I guess come back as a different name they don't recognize. Been here since April 2006 but I mainly am just here between calls at work (with permission).

I've been here for a long while.
The key to longevity is not to be militant. Though I am not condoning this as it may be against the EULA and other rules, if you want to be unruly and militant, get another account.. that's what I hear happens round these parts.

Remember these 4 things:
1. There are people who come into R&S who are bored, lonely, an/or just plain mean-spirited and seek to amuse themselves by slamming any and all for the simple perversity of upsetting and denigrating people.
2. There are people who sincerely ask questions and sincerely seek others help, prayers, perspectives, beliefs, and/or opinions and then there are those who ask questions, then sit back and slam dunk any and all who respond. Be prepared for either.
3. Be prepared for unsolicited emails and harsh commentary from those who rarely post their own responses but feel it is fine to send rude, crude, and occasionally obscene "private" emails to lambaste you for your responses out of the public forum eye.
4. ABOVE all else...Stay honest. When all is said and done, you can NOT control what others say, think, or feel, nor legislate how they will respond, you can only control how YOU act or react.

I've been around this forum for over a year now. The secrets to longevity are:
Occasional breaks
Thick skin
A good sense of humor
A few friends
. . .and a couple of beers now and then never hurt a thing, either.

I've been here for about a year.
Honestly, I've had more problems with getting flamed in questions by anonymous users than I have with being reported. I just try not to let it get to me. And I block when necessary.
And I just don't intentionally try to get people riled up. I can have fun around here without cutting anybody down.

Well this is my second profile. I was kicked out at Level 5 MotherMayI....oh so very sad. Then I was upset about that as it took me almost a year to get there. And now I just pop in now and again for the entertainment value here in R&S seriously. I love it here :-)) Good times..good times...
