I am not a Christian but I do think that anyone put into a position such as preaching should find their own voice, not just repeat what you've heard others say. Think about issues you as a person and a Christian believe in. If you preach about something make sure it's something you care about otherwise you won't care about it and neither will anyone you preach to.
Really take time to think about what your specific beliefs are and how you feel about issues that your church must deal with. Finding answers inside your self and exploring them more thoroughly will help fill voids.
If you would like a place to start I'd recommend starting with history. I love it myself and maybe understanding people who lived during the time you preach about may help you understand and pass that understanding onto your church.

Is the Lord calling on you to preach because you think the Lord SHOULD call on you to preach? Does maybe preaching not sound like something that "does it" for you, but you feel you SHOULD preach because you're all "on fire" for this religion of yours?
Honestly, I've had this empty feeling myself about stuff. If it just doesn't sit well with you, it's not right for you.

I agree with whoever said wait... but I'd add, be quiet and wait. Is it possible you've been praying a lot but not listening quite so much? Maybe you are called to preach, but maybe God is stalling because he has a certain direction that you're not headed in yet.
It's also possible that you are acting in God's will, but you haven't reached the fulfilling part yet. Sometimes we think things should be a certain way and get discouraged when it doesn't seem gratifying. Or God takes us to one step, and we think we've accomplished what he wants, when he still has a lot more in store.
So again, just wait. Be patient, be listening, and wait.

I, personally, don't think anyone can give an answer to this question. Maybe to encourage you would be a better quest.
Feeling the lowest of emptiness could only leave room to appreciate the complete full of obtaining God's wish for you. You are lucky to realize what your calling is...so many, myself included, have missed it.
Really talking to God makes me feel comfort. Comfort enough to reach out to you.

maybe you feel empty because preaching is not what you personally desire for yourself. the emptiness may cover a much deeper, underlying emotion that is being blocked from entering your consciousness. it could be trying to tell you something important about yourself and your present relation to reality. i suggest you take a look at this book first: ''the disowned self'' by nathaniel branden.you may find it very helpful and interesting. i carry it like a bible.

If you are preaching, arent you just telling a bunch of people stuff that they already know? I would get more satisfaction out of actively doing something to help someone that is really in need.

Sounds like you need a hobby. Or a mission. Surely there is more you can do in the community. There are plenty of groups who could use your help. Try contributing to the community in a different manner.

honestly i think the only thing we are called to do from a scriptual standpoint as Christians is to love one another... why dont you compile all the one another verses and apply them to your life. then you'll be walking out scripture commands and you will be living the life. Don't just preach because it's "ministry".

Then you are not called to preach -- I would find a good small group and work it out.
