Are you worried that others’, live bad lives and seem to be getting away with, while you’d go to hell if you did the same? Or that they don’t realise what harm they are doing to themselves, you see it and it pains you? That is a question that many have asked across the ages.
Let me assure you that they are not getting away with it. God sees all and is perfectly just, they must still pay for their misdeeds, for many times Jesus mentions that people will be rewarded according to their works. But God is merciful and wants all to repent of their sins and return to him.
Read the book of Jonah http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0839/__PTV.HTM (it is one of the smaller ones, just four chapters) http://www.drbo.org/book/37.htm. Assuming that at the end of their lives they haven’t died as God’s enemies and therefore end up going to hell, they themselves will experience a lot off pain and suffering when they repent and realise how they have offended so loving a father and Almighty God, and how much pain their actions have put him through, and how it has pained those who care about them?
See how Jesus dealt with sinners, he forgave those who came to him, but also added, “do not sin again.” And the story of the prodigal son, last half of Luke chapter 15 (http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0839/__PWY.HTM) (http://www.drbo.org/chapter/49015.htm).
That is hurts you is a good thing, pray for them, and always be charitable and merciful, but at the same time do not tolerate their sin, Jesus, tolerates sinners but not their sin, remember that, set them a better example of how to live and keep praying.
Pax Christi.

why don't you ask your teachers? The Scriptures are full of this question so do not feel bad. The Psalms say basically the same thing. Why does the wicked man seem to prosper and the good guys get the shaft more or less. The answer isn't in this world buddy---it will be revealed in the next. The REAL thing is that a Christian and yes this means you even though some of the people on this site would like to say not but, a real Christian trades their here and now for their future. They know that our life here is nothing when it comes to eternity and there will be an awful lot of people really miserable for all eternity because they couldn't leave sex alone or they couldn't not steal or they couldn't abstain from something. The thing is that every-time you say to yourself you will ignore God's command and say yes to your own desires, you are saying "give me Barabbas! Crucify Jesus" think of that each time and maybe it will help keep you out of trouble.

The idea of sin and the punishment of hell are there to deter people who do not have a moral compass of their own to decide what is right and what is wrong.
For instance, stealing hurts someone. If you steal because you see something that someone else has that you believe you should have but don't want to work for, you are envious and that is the stain on your soul. Instead of curing your envy by hurting the other person, you should think about what you have that others don't, why you aren't happy with that, and why you want what you don't have. You learn about yourself and you learn how to be happy for yourself and other people.
And sex is not wrong. Sex is precious. It should not be taken lightly. When you connect on that level with someone, you touch souls whether you believe it is casual or not. You should be prepared to make a commitment to the person (this is why the church sanctions marriage). There is an idea out there (not Catholic) that you leave a part of yourself with every partner you have. Think about how you might feel in 5 years. What if you don't like the person you left part of your soul with? But you are connected forever by that single act.
Rather than teach these things, lists of sins are given and threat of punishment. It is easier to control people this way rather than give them information and let them make their own decisions.
Think about the list of sins and the souls that are involved, yours and other peoples. You will be able to figure out why you should or shouldn't do these things based on the soul effects.

keep in mind they are following a very bad bad idea, the catholic religion was the first and only true christian religion,. however also keep in mind that if you do these things that you stated you will not "burn in hell" you would have to go to a priest and confess your sins, then you could be absolved. Remember though, just because they think they get a free pass, doesnt mean they will.

Well I think that's a bit of inaccurate reporting. I don't personally know of any religions that openly condone stealing or having sex, most religions are like the Catholic faith, you have to be a good person.

Whoever those people are they shouldn't be doing those things in the first place. Do your best to be a good example for them and a model of the Catholic faith.
God bless.

Peace.....We are all ultimately responsible to God for our own souls and after we take care of ourself (getting and keeping ourself in proper order - morally and mannerly) then we have a responsibility to pray for those who have not received God's Word and taken it to heart yet. You do have an awareness of those around you and it concerns you.....that is a good start! Perhaps God IS calling you to pray more for others.....

Adam...your sins can only be absolved if you truly regret having committed that sin and are planning on not repeating it. If not, you still have a mortal sin on your soul.
