The best, most effective, and safest, odour eater and cleaner is vinegar. Use half vinegar, half water and wipe down everything. It's easier to put it in a spray bottle.
Always let the cage air out for 15 minutes, to let the vinegar odour to dissipate.

umm first off dont just leave you hamster in an empty cage. Make sure you put down newspaper and then bedding on top. this will make a safe layer for easy cleaning. When it is time to clean just lift from the newspaper (keeping the bedding on top) and dump it in the trash. If there are leftovers then just wipe it with a paper towel. Then put in fresh newspapter and bedding (they also love newspaper for making a little den. I would not use any cleaning products because they could be toxic to try to avoid them if you can. Worst comes to worst just use water and towels

When I clean my rats' cages, I use either Lysol disinfectant wipes (if you do this, you must towel-dry it and insure the scent isn't strong, to prevent irritating the small animals' respiratory system), and/or I wash the cages thoroughly with Dawn soap.

I use either dilute vinegar or a product called Healthy Habitat for all our small animals' habitats.

I use plain dish soap and water. It works well and I already have it at home.
