You need to file the form I-90 Application to Replace Permanent Residence Card with the filing fee of $290 + $80 Biometric. You can get information, filing instructions and the form at USCIS website, click on Immigration Forms and look for I-90.

You lost it as misplaced or lost it as it was not renewed? if it is the first one you should be in the system and be able to ask for another one. If it is the second one then you will not be able to apply because it is all based on your green card status and you will be asked to part with it at the time of the citizenship.

Regardless, the letter in basic terms facilitates the airlines to board you on the flight to the U. S.; it would not in any way exchange your status. you're able to stay exterior of the U. They will ask for your green card. They take it from you once they give you the citizenship document.

did you report it lost? they will ask you the reason why you did not reported you green card lost

If you re no more responsible than to lose it like that, then perhaps you need to deny your permanent resident status & move back to whence thee came..............Ever think about that ????????????
