Does anyone have a list of toys that are made in America?
My kids(they are toddlers)are invited to many birthday parties, and the parents are increasingly asking for NO toys or only toys made in America.
Also,my own kids have been tested for lead, and though they are well under the limit for lead poisoning, the level has not gone down and in one of them it actually went up a point. They are both 3 1/2 and they generally don't put toys in their mouth, but this is obviously a concern for me.I had my house tested and it was negative so I have no clue where the exposure is coming from.
I would love to have websites, store names, product line names and individual toy names that are made in America, the more the better. Thanks in advance!!

I'll be watching your question because my friends and I have really been trying to find some. So far, we have not come up with any toys that are made in the United States.

I'm in Australia so I don't actually know about which toys are American made but I know of an excellent company in England that make toys that are safe and good quality called the Early Learning Centre. They distribute here in Australia so maybe they are available in America too? If not perhaps you can order from them online and have goods shipped to you. I strongly recommend that store - we have many toys from there and they are my kids' favourites, especially the classic wooden toys.

I have a hard time finding anything that is Australian made too. Every single item of clothing my children have is made in China, and all other toys that aren't from England. It is hard to find anything locally produced and like you I'd prefer to buy local and even pay more if I had to.

Good luck!

Magic Cabin, Rosie Hippo, and Hearthsong have nice toys, many made in the US or Europe. The descriptions do include the country of origin.

I think most or all of the Melissa & Doug toys are made in the US.

I just discovered an awesome site:

http://www.novanatural.com

It's based in Vermont and only sells stuff made in the US or Europe. It's really nice wooden and handmade stuff, and compared to other companies selling the same products, it is REALLY INEXPENSIVE, which is a definate plus :)
