I am on crutches for my broken ankle so getting up is terribly painful now due to my right knee giving out. Would a cortisone shot help till my ankle heals?

I was very active (working out 4x a week) b4 breaking my ankle. Unfortunately I have fallen many times on the right knee and now think all that damage has caught up with me since my right leg is doing majority of the work.

Are you placing all of your weight on the right leg, most likely, so the pain is probably due to that. Try to stay off of it for a while. You don't want to do the cortisone shot route, that stuff is really bad.

If you are overweight, you knee was probably stressed to begin with and now putting extra weight on it could make things worse.

If you aren't overweight, just stay off of it as much a possible.
